Performers from the Plano Symphony Brass & Percussion will perform two daytime concerts encompassing the theme Let’s Dance! on Sunday, July 10 at 3 & 4:30 PM.

As previously announced in May, as part of the Plano Symphony Orchestra’s 40th Anniversary Season and in partnership with the H-E-B | Central Market Plano Balloon Festival, the PSO will open this year’s festival a day early with a special outdoor community concert on Thursday, September 22 at 7 PM.

The Plano Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce Shira Samuels-Shragg will be joining Maestro Hector Guzman as Assistant Conductor ahead of the orchestra’s 40th Anniversary Season. Shira is a young American conductor in her final year pursuing a Masters in Orchestral Conducting at the Juilliard School with highly-sought after conductor David Robertson. This full-time position is funded by a generous donation from Tammy and Charles Miller. Shira will assume her role on August 22, 2022.

Classic works, like Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, are a staple of the season. Robert A. Reed, Executive Director of the Plano Symphony Orchestra, announced today that, at the PSO Annual Meeting held on June 6, 2021, the Board unanimously elected Marion Brockette as President as well as approved the returning and new board members and a new slate of officers. The Board voted to install the following officers: Marion Brockette, President; Dr. Chris Parr, Vice President; Janie Orr, Secretary; Mike Mangum, Treasurer; Marcela Schweers, Guild President.
