The Omaha Community Playhouse (OCP) has announced the titles to be produced during their 98th season, which will run from August 2022 through June 2023.

L.A. Theatre Works, the world's leading producer of audio theater, is honored to add Pipeline by Dominique Morisseau to its extensive collection of state-of-the-art audio theater, the largest library of its kind in the world.

As we head towards the end of the year and look forward to a new one, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the great theatre that was made by San Diego theatres and artists.  From virtual to in-person, theatre proved that art finds a way, and even a pandemic can’t keep them down.

L.A. Theatre Works, the world's leading producer of audio theater, is best known for its unique catalog of nearly 600 plays. Another key component of the company's mission is to produce science-themed plays, recorded with funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, which are made available to schools, libraries and the general public as part of LATW's “Relativity Series.” The latest addition to that collection, Franklinland, written by Lloyd Suh and starring Gregory Harrison and Larry Powell, is set for release on Thursday, Dec. 16.

Blackfriars Theatre continues its 2021-2022 season (doing alternating repertory performances with Charlayne Woodard's 'Pretty Fire') with 'Silent Sky', an original play by Lauren Gunderson, who holds the unique accolade of being America's most produced living playwright. It's an inspiring show that touches on themes of gender and patriarchy on the surface, but if you dig a little deeper you'll also uncover explorations of space, time, human connection, and one's legacy.

This past September, I got a new job working in the front of the house at The La Jolla Playhouse. My job title, Audience Concierge, includes many patron services responsibilities including checking vaccine cards/ID upon entering the theatre, ticket scanning, helping ushers, being available in the lobby during the show, and locking up. Working in the front of the house has given me lots of insight into what working in a professional environment is like while also teaching me about another aspect of theatre that I did not know much about coming into the job.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced a robust slate of playwright commissions through Manhattan Theatre Club's new partnership with the Edgerton Foundation, as well as a new round of commissions supported by ongoing partnerships with Bobbie Olsen and other donors.

Blackfriars Theatre returns to live, indoor performances this October with two beautiful and heart-warming productions to kick off its 72nd Season in downtown Rochester. Charlayne Woodard’s new play THE GARDEN, now playing at La Jolla Playhouse through Oct 17th, proves that relationships are like gardens; they need to be tended regularly in order to flourish.

Each of the finalists were given the prompt  'Borders' for their submission. Each entry is evaluated for its Character Development, Ear for Authentic Speech, Camouflage of Exposition, Thrilling Story, Dramatic Structure, and Clever Use of Festival Theme.

Hear Me Out New American Monologue Competition’s founder Roland Tec has announced this year’s Finalist Judges Gretchen Cryer, Christine Toy Johnson, Austin Pendleton, and Charlayne Woodard: all award-winning playwrights with equally masterful careers as performers.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced a special engagement of Hasan Minhaj – Experiment Time, written and performed by Hasan Minhaj.

The University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts recently completed a national search to fill the position of the lead acting professor. The department has announced that Caroline Stephanie Clay will be joining the faculty this fall as lead acting professor of the MFA acting program.

Theatre Communications Group has announced the recipients of the first round of the 2021 Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards. The awards, totaling $1,072,000, allow 28 productions extra time for the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, hoping to extend the life of the world premiere play after its first run.
