Musical legends Mariah Carey, Annie Lennox / Dave Stewart p/k/a Eurythmics, Ernie Isley / Marvin Isley / O'Kelly Isley / Ronald Isley / Rudolph Isley / Chris Jasper p/k/a The Isley Brothers, Steve Miller, Chad Hugo / Pharrell Williams p/k/a The Neptunes, Rick Nowels and William “Mickey” Stevenson will become the latest inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame at the organization's 51st Annual Induction and Awards Dinner. These legendary songwriters wrote mega-hits such as, 'Vision of Love,”  “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” “Shout,” “The Joker,” “Hollaback Girl,” “Heaven is a Place on Earth,” and “Dancing In The Street.” The star-studded induction event is slated for Thursday, June 11th at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Herb Alpert's premiere jazz venue, VIBRATO GRILL JAZZ, presents the return of BMG recording artist, songwriter, and musical theater lyricist Carly Robyn Green to celebrate Valentine's love songs on February 12th, 2020. Last night, at their performance in the David Rubenstein Atrium for Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival, the award-winning violinist Tessa Lark and virtuoso composer and bassist Michael Thurber  announced the release of Invention, their debut recording as a duo. Invention is anchored by J.S. Bach's Two-Part Inventions and fuses the pair's classical and American music influences into a wholly original sound.

Broadway is prepping for a number of shows that could almost be called new save for their jukebox music by Alanis Morissette or Tina Turner, but according to the New York Post, a true original musical could have its eye on Broadway.

Today, legendary West Coast rapper Ras Kass releases a new single, “Guns N Roses” feat. Styles P and Lil Fame, and unveils the release date July 26 for his next LP, Soul on Ice 2. “Guns N Roses” premiered on HipHopDX, and finds Ras wrecking a dusty psychedelic flip with M.O.P and Styles P. It's a classic four alarm, bring-the-big-guns assault; a tunnel banger for the second decade of the 21st Century.

'I just wanted to be honest about everything, from my musical influences to my story,' muses Neal Francis. After years of dishonest living -- consumed by drugs, alcohol, and addiction -- such sincerity is jarring from the 30-year-old Chicago-based musician. Liberated from a self-destructive past and born anew in sobriety, Francis has captured an inspired collection of songs steeped in New Orleans rhythms and Chicago blues. His music evokes a bygone era of R&B's heyday while simultaneously forging a new path on the musical landscape. Ohio-based Karma Chief Records (a subsidiary of rising soul label Colemine Records) will release two songs, 'These Are The Days' and 'Changes, Pt. 1,' in early 2019 with the full LP to follow in summer 2019.

Musician and Producer Matt Oestreicher recently found himself mired in a troubling paradox. While mentoring kids in his music program, he realized he was encouraging children to aspire high, but he wasn't pursuing his own dreams. Despite becoming an accomplished sideman musician, he had yet to fulfill his desire to record and release any of his work.

The Apollo Theater announced today that Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Alice Smith will headline the Apollo's WOW – Women of the World Festival. The performance, featuring new music from her upcoming Full LP Mystery set to release at the end of 2018, is a part of the 3rd annual gathering of artists, activists, and leaders from around the globe at the Apollo Theater beginning March 12 and running through March 17, 2019.  Smith will bring her intoxicating mix of R&B, pop and rock along with a special musical tribute to the world famous Apollo Theater stage on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 8pm.
