SKITTLES has partnered with Todrick Hall to donate $100,000 to the National Black Trans Advocacy Coalition (BTAC). The donation will support the group's work to improve the lived experience of transgender people, including its Black Trans COVID-19 Community Response Fund initiative that benefits transgender families impacted by COVID-19 in the U.S.

Essential Theatre is proud to announce the winners of the 2020 Essential Theatre Playwriting Award: The Outrage Machine by Daniel Carter Brown and The Wishing Place by Beverly Trader Austin. The Outrage Machine and The Wishing Place will each receive a full production in the 2020 Essential Theatre Festival this summer as well as a cash prize. Now in its twentieth year, the Essential Theatre Playwriting Competition is the only competition of its kind. The 2020 Award is sponsored in part by Corbin Real Estate Team.

The world premiere of Daniel Carter Brown's new comedy Honor the System opens November 11, 2016 at Out of Box Theatre as the first, official, full-scale production in the New Works Series. Brown is no stranger to the Out of Box stage, and one of his short plays was included in the Playing in the Dark Series at Out of Box, so the choice of his hilarious show was a no-brainer for the Out of Box staff. Honor the Systemwas written with Out of Box's unique features in mind, taking into account the size and intimacy of the space.
