The Royal Ballet opens the 2023/24 Season with a revival of Carlos Acosta’s celebrated production of Don Quixote. This production premiered in 2013 and receives its 50th performance on the Royal Opera House stage. This much-loved classic teems with comedy, wit and an abundance of bravura choreography, showcasing the Company at their very best.

Not dance royalty Carlos Acosta, who seems to literally turn back time by making a return to the stage as a dancer - having retired from performing in 2016 - in Carlos at 50 at the Royal Opera House (with five, basically sold out performances), his old stomping ground.

Carlos Acosta celebrates his 50th birthday by returning to dance at the Royal Opera House this July with Carlos at 50.  For this special series of shows Carlos will perform a selection of some of his favourite solos and pas de deux from his impressive dance career, including George Balanchine's Apollo and the celebrated Bedroom Scene pas de deux from Kenneth MacMillan's Manon.
