Arts Centre Melbourne Presents A MILE IN MY SHOES

Arts Centre Melbourne is inviting visitors to literally walk a mile in someone else's shoes as part of a free participatory arts project exploring the practise of empathy. A Mile in My Shoes, created by Empathy Museum's award-winning artist and curator Clare Patey, asks participants to step inside a giant shoe shop on Arts Centre Melbourne forecourt from 1 - 17 November where they will temporarily trade their footwear, slip on some headphones and take a short walk, as the shoe's owner tells a story about their life.

Violinist Gillian Smith Launches CD Of Works By Canadian Women Composers

Halifax violinist Gillian Smith is en route to Toronto this fall to launch her first solo CD, the premiere recording of solo violin works by five Canadian women composers.  In conjunction with Leaf Music, she presents a one-hour performance to launch Into the Stone, Saturday, October 5, 7 p.m. at the Glenn Gould Studio, 250 Front St. W.   The concert also marks the Toronto debut of this well-known Nova Scotian musician.

New York City Opera Announces Program For 75th Anniversary Concert In Bryant Park

New York City Opera (NYCO), under the direction of Michael Capasso, General Director, has announced that it will celebrate its 75th Anniversary with a free concert in Bryant Park on Monday, September 9 at 6pm. The anniversary concert, which will be the finale to Bryant Park Picnic Performances presented by Bank of America, will feature soloists Michael Chioldi, Lisa Chavez, Glen Seven Allen, Mark Rucker, Brandie Sutton, Won Whi Choi, Kristin Sampson, Mark Delavan, Inna Dukach, and Megan Picerno, backed by a 30-member chorus, accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra led by a quartet of conductors: Carolyn Kuan, James Meena, Gil Rose, and James Lowe. The celebratory concert will be narrated by Mr. Capasso.

MICKEY MOUSE MIXED-UP ADVENTURES Will Debut on Disney Junior This October

Disney Junior's 'Mickey and the Roadster Racers' featuring Disney's #1 star, Mickey Mouse, and his pals, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto, will premiere its third season with the new title, 'Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures,' and an updated version of the fan-favorite 'Hot Dog!' song, on MONDAY, OCT. 14 on Disney Channel, Disney Junior and DisneyNOW. That same day, a new series of shorts, 'Hot Diggity-Dog Tales' starring Mickey and 'mouse's best friend' Pluto will also debut on Disney Channel, Disney Junior and DisneyNOW.

Breaking: DIANA Musical Will Open on Broadway in 2020

The new musical based on the incredible real life story of an icon to end all icons, Diana, will open on Broadway in the spring of 2020, producers Grove Entertainment (Beth Williams), Frank Marshall and The Araca Group announced today. Performances will begin on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th St.), with an official Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

The Fabulous Fifties Are In Full Swing At Penobscot Theatre

Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy will stage two 1950s-era shows to round out a season of successful youth programming.  REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE, made famous by the 1955 film starring legendary Hollywood bad boy James Dean, will play August 15, 16, and 17 at 7pm, and August 18 at 3pm. THE MAN FROM PLANET 52, a campy love letter to B-movies, will be performed on August 15, 16, and 17 at 4pm and on August 18 at 11am.  The performances will be at the historic Bangor Opera House, 131 Main Street, Bangor.

Photo Flash: In Rehearsal For AS YOU LIKE IT at Queen's Theatre Hornchurch

Following triumphant performances of Pericles at the National Theatre in summer 2018, the next Public Acts production of As You Like It is currently in rehearsals and will play from 24 – 27 August. Queen's Theatre Hornchurch's Artistic Director, Douglas Rintoul will direct this musical adaptation of the William Shakespeare classic.
