Young 'Descendants' viewers repped their block, making the premiere of 'Descendants 3' (Friday, Aug. 2, 8:00 p.m.) cable TV's highest-rated telecast in over two years among Kids 6-11, Tweens 9-14, Girls 6-11 and Girls 9-14, according to L+3 data available today.

BroadwayWorld previously reported the passing of actor Cameron Boyce, best known for his work on the Disney Channel. Boyce was 20 years old. Disney Channel has released an emotional tribute video to the actor, featuring clips of his work on the network, including interviews and bloopers.

The Paley Center for Media today announced that it will host the New York premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants 3. Part of the PaleyLive Summer Season, the premiere will take place on Tuesday, July 30 at 5:30 pm and will be immediately followed by a discussion with members of the cast and creative team.

'Descendants 3,' the third movie in Disney's global smash franchise, is set to premiere on FRIDAY, AUG. 2 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW.

Jasmine Cephas Jones will join the cast on HBO's upcoming comedy series Mrs. Fletcher  in a recurring role, according to Deadline. The series stars Kathryn Hahn and is directed and executive produced by Nicole Holofcener.

Producer Carl Rumbaugh today announced that Nicole Elizabeth Berger (All At Once, Clover) will join Cameron Boyce (Disney's Descendants) to topline in the teenage, dramatic Indie thriller, Runt, along with new co-stars Jason Patric (Speed 2, Narc), Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool, Tragedy Girls), Tichina Arnold (Survivor's Remorse, Everybody Hates Chris) and Aramis Knight (Into the Badlands, Ender's Game). The film is directed by William Coakley and produced by Carl Rumbaugh (A Raisin in the Sun) and Gregory Thomas (Tragedy Girls), and is a production of Wagging Tails Productions, Inc.  Runt is Coakley's first directorial feature.  The film was written by Christian van Gregg, Armand Constantine and Coakley and is set to shoot in Los Angeles, California beginning this month.

Cheyenne Jackson ('American Horror Story') has been cast in Disney's 'Descendants 3,' in the role of Hades, the nefarious underworld ruler from the 1997 Disney animated musical comedy film 'Hercules.' Jackson, who began his career as a theatrical actor including starring roles in Broadway productions 'All Shook Up' and 'Xanadu' among others, starred in multiple seasons of 'American Horror Story' and has had roles in over 40 television series and films. The trequel is set to begin production shortly for a scheduled debut in 2019.
