Mustafa Shakir, Terry Pheto & More Join Showtime's KING SHAKA

FREAKY FRIDAY Will Be Performed by River Valley Players

The new musical, Freaky Friday, based on the beloved 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films (and developed by Disney Theatrical Productions expressly for licensing to theatres), features a book by Bridget Carpenter - the co-executive producer and writer on the beloved TV hits, 'Friday Night Lights' and 'Parenthood' - and music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey - the Pulitzer Prize-winning composers of Next to Normal and If/Then.

Orlando REP Announces 2021-2022 Season

A favorite Orlando REP actor, Stephen Pugh, takes on multiple characters as he vividly takes us back to the quaint village of Sleepy Hollow, where stories of wonder and spookiness surround the legend of a headless horseman and schoolmaster Ichabod Crane. Derek G. Martin and Jesse M. Sullivan adapted this Washington Irving classic for the stage. 

Portland Stage Announces The 2020 Clauder Competition For New England Playwrights Winners

The winning plays, The Last Ship to Proxima Centauri by Greg Lam, In His Hands by Benjamin Benne, and Rx Machina by Caity-Shea Violette will be workshopped and given digital readings in the 32nd Annual Little Festival of the Unexpected over three weekends in March and April, starting March 12, 2021. The digital workshop performances are free and open to the public with registration.

New Camerata Opera Presents NY Premiere Of BARNUM'S BIRD At (Le) Poisson Rouge

New Camerata Opera will present the New York fully-staged premiere of  Barnum's Bird at (Le) Poisson Rouge, a live music venue located in Greenwich Village. This opera, composed by Libby Larsen with a libretto by Bridget Carpenter, debuted in 2001. It tells the story of famed operatic soprano, Jenny Lind, and her American tour with P.T. Barnum in 1850. Barnum's Bird is also an extraordinary vehicle through which to gain insight into one's own experiences as a lover of art and a consumer of entertainment. Performances will be held on May 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:00pm).
