Jaime Lozano & The Familia have announced their return to Lincoln Center with their new show, ¿Bailamos? ('May We Dance?'). This one-night-only performance on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 6:00 pm promises to be a spectacular evening of dance and celebration, showcasing Lozano's signature fusion of salsa, cumbia, Mexican sounds, and musical theater.

This reviewer was overwhelmed by the acclaimed musical Tour de Force that is Michael Feinstein and the marvelous Carnegie Hall Big Band at the March 27th edition of Standard Time with Michael Feinstein.

Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts kicks off its 2022-23 Jazz series with Luciana Souza & Vince Mendoza, Storytellers with All-Star Big Band.

The annual Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival will be held on the Green on Saturday, September 17, from noon until 10:00 p.m. An initiative by Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty, the Festival enters its 12th year.

On Sunday, October 17th from 5-6:30PM, the Jared Schonig Big Band will celebrate the release of their new CD at Birdland, 315 West 44th Street, NYC.

Sometimes a single song can save a show. This June, three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall comes to the Feinstein's/54 Below stage to share the nail-biting stories behind the 11th-hour songs that saved the day and became Broadway classics in "A Funny Thing Happened: Songs From The Road To Broadway," direct from a sold-out run at the 92nd Street Y.

Sunday night, Mark Walter topped off a year of Herculean accomplishment in preserving his father's legacy with a concert at the Cutting Room that went off like fireworks. Somewhere, composer /lyricist/arranger/pianist Cy Walter (right in Lloyd Diaz photo), was beaming. In 2015, Mark completed his father's discography filed with The Library of Congress, created a spanking new website, established The Cy Walter Foundation, and put out a two CD package of pre-1950's music with Harbinger Records. The Sunday concert, with expert Musical Direction by the inimitable Tedd Firth, was an opportunity not only to salute a multifaceted talent, but also for many, including Mark (photo below left), to hear songs that haven't been performed for 60 or 70 years.

Produced by Michael Feinstein, this collection features a charming mix of Broadway, Jazz, and Pop favorites all arranged by Tedd Firth to showcase Ziobro's attractive vocal instrument.
