Throughout its extensive history, the Highlights In Jazz series has made a practice of presenting a spectrum of the most beloved and admired jazz players on the scene. The upcoming 2020 season is no exception, with the exciting four-concert series bringing together stellar musicians including Jimmy Cobb, Jay Leonhart, Bernard Purdie, Art Baron, Russell Malone and others. Count on hearing unforgettable performances from Wycliffe Gordon, Peter and Will Anderson, Victor Lewis, Eddie Daniels, joined by an array of greats.

This year's nominees reflect a melting pot of artistic innovation that defined the year in music, showcasing the unparalleled craftsmanship of established artists and the industry-shifting impact of rising music creators. Leading nominees Lizzo (8), Billie Eilish (6) and Lil Nas X (6) not only topped the charts but ignited a cultural conversation around their genre-bending hits. As the only peer-selected music award, the GRAMMY Awards are voted on by the Recoding Academy's membership body of music makers, who represent all genres and creative disciplines, including recording artists, songwriters, producers, mixers and engineers.

The Annenberg Center heats up Philly's jazz scene in November, honoring the legacy of jazz great Art Blakey with Messenger Legacy, on Saturday, November 16 at 8 PM, and introducing jazz vibraphonist Joel Ross to Philadelphia in his headline debut, Thursday, November 21 at 7:30 PM. Augie Haas is best known as a well-respected trumpeter, educator and composer. His most recent recording, Dream A Little Dream, is a change of pace. It balances jazz and doo-wop standards, featuring eight vocal tracks and three instrumentals. Haas displays an impressive range on trumpet as well as an effective voice that does justice to the lyrics that he interprets.
