Review: The Ever-Elusive SHERLOCK HOLMES at Portland Stage

For its second offering of the season Portland Stage regales its audience with Steven Dietz’s adaptation of William Gillette and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original play, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure. The play, a re-imagined period piece, offers a low-key, witty take on the familiar characters and material with enough twists and turns to satisfy Conan Doyle fans.

​Kumu Kahua Theatre Announces Cast For The First Play of its New Season, ALOHA LAS VEGAS

Kumu Kahua Theatre has announced the cast of Aloha Las Vegas, the first play of its upcoming 52nd Season. Reuniting many cast members from its previous productions at Kumu Kahua over the years, the play written by Edward Sakamoto will again grace the theatre's stage in downtown Honolulu, with live performances August 25-September 25, 2022.

The First And Only Canadian Opera Documentary Film THE LAKE Premieres At DOXA Film Festival

The Lake / nx̌aʔx̌aʔitkʷ, a unique opera documentary about the groundbreaking cross-cultural collaboration between Vancouver’s Astrolabe Musik Theatre, Turning Point Ensemble and Westbank First Nation, has its BC premiere on May 6, 2022, at 7:45 p.m. at the VIFF Centre VanCity Theatre, with a second screening May 12 at 7:45 p.m. at SFU’s Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema, as part of the DOXA Documentary Film Festival. The Lake / nx̌aʔx̌aʔitkʷ is also available for viewing online.

Arena Stage and The Atlantic Council Premiere VETERANS DAY 2020

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater will partner with The Atlantic Council for the virtual premiere screening of VETERANS DAY 2020. This cinematic celebration of military service will debut on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 4:30 pm EST and will remain available to the public for free for 26 weeks.

Oxygen Presents 12 Dark Days Of Serial Killers Kicking Off April 9

 Oxygen, the destination for high-quality, true-crime programming, rolls out its 12 Dark Days of Serial Killers event April 9-20 with back to back premieres, including new specials “Catching a Serial Killer: Sam Little” and “Snapped: Notorious Hollywood Ripper,” along with returning series “Mark of a Killer” and “The DNA of Murder with Paul Holes” season finales. The network will run additional serial killer-themed programming throughout the 12-day event with episodes from series such as “Serial Killer with Piers Morgan,” “Dateline: Secrets Uncovered,” “Smiley Face Killers: The Hunt for Justice,” “It Takes a Killer” and more.

Stage Portrayal of Ray Bradbury Begins National Tour

Author Ray Bradbury, lauded for half a century on book covers as 'The Worlds Greatest Living Science Fiction Writer' (a blurb he hated) is getting the solo stage treatment in a new multimedia show authorized by the writer's estate. Ray Bradbury Live (forever) features Emmy-winner Bill Oberst Jr., best-known for playing monsters and monstrous humans on CBS' Criminal Minds, FOX's Scream Queens and in over 100 horror films, in a performance composed entirely of Bradbury's own words. The show begins a national tour this month, following a successful Off-Broadway staged reading and Los Angeles debut.

John Lennon Biopic to be Developed as Stage Musical

The 2009 film Nowhere Boy, about John Lennon's teenage years has been acquired for development as a stage musical, according to Deadline. The rights have been acquired by producers Brian and Dayna Lee of AF Creative Media, and Robyn Goodman and Josh Fiedler of Aged in Wood.

WarnerMedia Entertainment today announced the premiere date and showrunner for Chasing the Cure (formerly known by its working title M.D. Live) from TNT and Lionsgate Television.
