 The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2015-2016 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, September 12, to patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party was generously hosted by the Alliance Theatre, at 6:30pm in The Circle Room, on the third floor, 1280 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia, 30309. 

Arena Stage presents BORN FOR THIS: THE BeBe Winans STORY, the heartwarming true story of six-time Grammy Award-winning icon BeBe Winans' journey to fame. BORN FOR THIS, directed by celebrated director and playwright Charles Randolph-Wright (Motown The Musical), is a co-production with the ALLIANCE THEATRE in Atlanta, Ga., where the production ran April 13-May 15, 2016 prior to the Arena Stage production. The new musical, which officially kicks off Arena Stage's 2016/17 season, features original songs and Winans family hits, with a book by Randolph-Wright and Winans. Presenters included local favorite performers Denise Arribas, Tiffany Porter, Gina Rickicki, Clifton Guterman, Kevin Harry, Jeremiah Parker Hobbs, Chris Kayser, and Topher Payne.

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts hosts Fat Tuesday Celebration with the debut of Grammy winning Artistic Director Irvin Mayfield leading the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO)on Tuesday, February 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Verizon Hall. Founded byIrvin Mayfield in 2002, NOJO's 18-piece big band ensemble creates a jazz celebration like no other in Philadelphia with swinging, brassy big band tunes, true to New Orleans' Mardi Gras festivities.
