Old Forester's Paristown Hall Announces First Shows for Late Summer

Old Forester's Paristown Hall, Louisville's newest state-of-the-art standing room venue, has announced a roster of performances for its opening in late July. These acts include iconic New York rock band Interpol, Memphis country-punk rockers Lucero and singer-songwriter sensation Gavin DeGraw.  The Opening Night event on July 23 will be headlined by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, along with a slate of performers including the dance troupe Pilobolus, Mucca Pazza and local favorite Ben Sollee.

Kingsborough Community College presented The Lords of 52nd Street in concert, commemorating the first time the band has performed on a Brooklyn stage. Music to everyone's ears (from the little ones dancing in the aisles with their families, to my parents, who have traveled the east coast to see Billy Joel perform - about 6 times now), there was no stopping the joy that Joel's original band spread amongst those in the audience on that special night.

The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE: MSG) celebrates Jerry Seinfeld's 50th show in his residency at the Beacon Theatre with tomorrow's 9:30pm performance. Seinfeld began this overwhelmingly successful residency in 2016, and continued it throughout 2017 before resuming in January 2019. Seinfeld currently holds the record for the most comedy shows at The Beacon, and is catching up to the total performance numbers of other legendary Beacon Theatre mainstays, including Allman Brothers Band and Steely Dan, who have 238 and 60 performances, respectively. Additional performances as part of the Seinfeld residency have been announced through November 2019.

The Madison Square Garden Company announced today the unprecedented 70th consecutive show by legendary musician and MSG franchise, Billy Joel, on Friday, November 15, 2019. The November show is part of Joel's residency at The World's Most Famous Arena which began in January 2014 with him playing one show per month at The Garden. The November 2019 show will be Joel's 116th all-time performance at The Garden.

The ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) honored David Patrick Columbia at the 22nd annual ASPCA Bergh Ball last night at The Plaza in New York City. The event raised $1.1 million to support the ASPCA's life-saving work for animals. Renowned fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi returned as the Master of Ceremonies, while DJ Sam French entertained the crowd throughout the evening. Other VIP guests in attendance included Jessica Hart, Candace Bushnell, Allie Rizzo, Liz Eswein and Wes Gordon.

Alt-Pop duo Hooked Like Helen has shared their new single 'Tear This Place Apart' on the 26th April, lifted from their upcoming EP, Tragedy Of Physics set for release on 31st May via Stipp Manor Music. Co-produced alongside Grammy award-winning mixer, engineer and producer Isha Erskine (Ziggy Marley, Maroon 5, Black Eyed Peas) the EP also features vocals by NBC's The Voice contestant, Emily Keener. Previous single 'No Turning Back' which recently premiered via Clash Magazine and featured on the NY Top 40 Charts, was used as the soundtrack in the trailer for the film High Strung: Free Dance, set to hit international theatres this year. 'Liar', also lifted from the EP, won acclamation by winning the Indi.com songwriting contest and has been snapped up for use in a dance scene choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance's Tyce Diorio for High Strung: Free Dance. The soundtrack for the film includes 3 Hooked Like Helen songs and 2 tracks co-written by Hooked Like Helen's Nikki Stipp. Previous tracks 'Get Well', 'Concrete Tub', and 'Surface Break' were placed on MTV's Unlocking The Truth docu-series alongside its official Spotify Playlist, and their track 'Stable' was placed in a promo video for the television show Nashville.
