Sierra Madre Playhouse is beginning our return to live performances with a series of one-person shows that we're calling the Sierra Madre Playhouse Solo Shows Festival.

The Broad Stage has changed the launch of a new live series Cue & A with Robert Kraft to Wednesday, April 26 at 7:30pm.  This first evening features conversation, clips, commentary, live demonstrations and an audience Q & A with Emmy Award-winning composer and pianist Kris Bowers, whose recent credits include “Respect” and “King Richard.”

The Midnight Company announced its 25th Anniversary Season with their lineup of productions for their 2022 landmark silver anniversary year. The season will open with ANOMALOUS EXPERIENCE by the Company’s Artistic Director, Joe Hanrahan, running May 5-21 at the Kranzberg Black Box Theatre. Midnight’s second show of the season will be RODNEY’S WIFE by Richard Nelson and is directed by Joe Hanrahan. The show runs July 7-23 at The Chapel. The final show of the season will be ST. LOUIS WOMAN, written and directed by Joe Hanrahan, running October 6-22 at the .ZACK.

Celebration of Black Voices continues virtually with AIN'T I A WOMAN, streaming beginning January 20! Written by Shirley Edgerton and Felicia Robertson and directed by Shirley Edgerton and Ted Thomas, AIN'T I A WOMAN tells the stories of unsung African American heroines.

Trav'lin - The 1930s Harlem Musical Romance, a joyful celebration of love in the Jazz Age with a classic jazz and blues score, is receiving its Southeast regional premiere to kick off the Mainstage Series at Florida's Winter Park Playhouse.

The nominations for the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album are out! The awards honored six musicals, including Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella, Girl From the North Country, the Unofficial Bridgerton Musical, Stephen Schwartz's Snapshots, and Les Miserables: The Staged Concert (The Sensational 2020 Live Recording).

Since Broadway had been dark throughout the nomination process, the society would instead honor virtual theatre productions that happened throughout the year, naming it the Virtual Theatre Award. Other nominees include Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, Girls5Eva, Ted Lasso, Bridgerton, Wandavision, Shrill, This Is Us, The Queen's Gambit, and more.
