Mint Theater Company is presenting the American premiere of Noël Coward’s The Rat Trap, directed by Alexander Lass. Now in previews at New York City Center Stage II for a limited Off-Broadway engagement through December 10th only. Opening Night is set for Monday November 21st. Get a first look at photos here!

DETROIT '67 Comes to the T2 Stage

Tony nominee and MacArthur 'Genius' grant winner Dominique Morisseau's critically acclaimed play, Detroit '67, begins October 12 at TheatreSquared  (477 W. Spring St., Fayetteville) and runs through November 6. 

IF/THEN Opens May 19 At Gallery Players

This May, Gallery Players will present the final musical of its 55th season, a new production of IF/THEN; music by Tom Kitt; book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey; originally produced on Broadway in 2014.

Cast Announced for SHE'S GOT HARLEM ON HER MIND at Metropolitan Playhouse

Obie Award winner Metropolitan Playhouse will revive three plays of influential Harlem Renaissance writer Eulalie Spence in an evening directed by Timothy Johnson: SHE'S GOT HARLEM ON HER MIND, playing a limited run from February 3 through 27, 2022, in person at the Playhouse: 220 E 4th Street.

RADIUM GIRLS Comes to Metropolitan Playhouse Next Month

Obie Award winner Metropolitan Playhouse returns to in-person performance with the New York premiere of D.W. Gregory's RADIUM GIRLS, newly revised for a limited run from October 28 through November 21, 2021, in person at the Playhouse: 220 E 4th Street. Laura Livingston (State of the Union, The Jazz Singer) directs.

The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. Will present A PHOTOGRAPH/LOVERS IN MOTION

In keeping with the mission and vision of The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc, the company will present 'a photograph / lovers in motion,' written by Ntozake Shange and adapted and directed by Ifa Bayeza, from February 5 to 29 at Theatre 80 St. Marks, 80 St. Marks Place. The play was first produced at The Public Theater as 'a photograph / a study in cruelty' in 1977 then revised and produced at the Houston Ensemble Theater in 1982 under its current title, 'a photograph / lovers in motion.' It was presented as a feature in NEC's annual reading series in 2015, Year of the Woman.

Ensemble for the Romantic Century continues the 2018-19 season, ERC's 18th, with its final offering of the season, Hans Christian Andersen: Tales Real & Imagined by Eve Wolf.  Performances began April 13th for a limited run through May 25th, with opening night scheduled for May 5th

ON KENTUCKY AVENUE Sweeps 46th Annual Audelco Awards With Six Wins

On Nov. 19, 2018, the 46th Annual Vivian Robinson AUDELCO Recognition Awards for Excellence in Black Theatre were held at Tribeca Performing Arts Center. On Kentucky Avenue, a new original musical created by Jeree Wade and written by Adam Wade and Ty Stephens, was nominated for 10 AUDELCO Awards, taking home a total of six, the highest number of wins for the evening, including for "Best Musical."

SHADOW OF HEROES Plays Through December 9 at Metropolitan Playhouse

Obie Award winner Metropolitan Playhouse brings Robert Ardrey's documentary play to the stage for its first New York revival.  The limited run, closing December 9, 2018, plays at the Playhouse home at 220 E 4th Street.  Alex Roe directs.
