Largest Comedy Festival In America Adds 100+ Shows

Today the New York Comedy Festival (NYCF) announced the addition of more than 100 shows to the 2019 week-long laugh fest. The festival, which runs from November 4th-10th, will be taking place at some of New York City's most iconic venues, including the Beacon Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Carolines on Broadway, Madison Square Garden, Town Hall, and the Tribeca Performing Arts Center among others.
One Day Delay For Off Broadway Premiere of I SPY A SPY

Due to technical issues (or spy interference) the Off Broadway premiere of I Spy A Spy, a new (declassified) musical comedy, with book and lyrics by Jamie Jackson and book & music by SoHee Youn, directed and choreographed by Bill Castellino (Cagney, Desperate Measures) with musical direction by Dan Pardo (Amazing Grace) will now begin its limited engagement (through September 21) at The Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Saturday, July 6th at 8pm. The show will have its official opening on Thursday, July 18th at 7pm.

The West Coast Premiere of Troy Deutch's original political satire, Orangutan opens June 8, 2019 at The Broadwater Black Box Theatre (6322 Santa Monica Blvd. 90038) as part of the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Written by Deutsch, directed by Tinks Lovelace and starring Kristina Mueller, Orangutan is a haunting and absurd one-woman show about the mother of a brutish (slightly orange) would-be dictator, and the tribalism that's tearing our country apart.

Bay Street Theater is pleased to continue adding to the Comedy Club line up for this summer. The two all new shows just added are Robert Klein on Saturday, June 22, and Colin Quinn on Saturday, July 27. Tickets for both shows go on sale to the public on April 5. The return ofPaula Poundstone on Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 25, was recently announced and tickets are already on sale and are going fast according to Bay Street Theater.
