Written and performed by Bronx-native actor, singer, and HBO Def Poetry Jam alum Flaco Navaja, Evolution of a Sonero fuses salsa, hip-hop, spoken-word poetry and beatboxing to weave a slice-of-life narrative in a tour de force performance that takes audiences on a musical journey through the streets of New York and beyond. Directed by Pregones/PRTT's Associate Artistic Director Jorge B. Merced, Evolution of a Sonero is part salsa concert and part love letter to the Bronx.

Returning for a second year, this fall's lineup includes the beloved musicals "An American in Paris The Musical" and Rodgers & Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music," as well as documentaries about the making of John Leguizamo's Tony-nominated play "Latin History for Morons" and 21-time Tony-winning director and producer Harold Prince. The producers of John Leguizamo's LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS, announced today that the one-man play has become the first play to recoup its capitalization this season. LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS recouped in the first 15 weeks of its limited run at Broadway's Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). The original 16-week engagement was extended an additional three weeks on opening night, November 15, 2017.
