Celebrating the legendary Cole Porter, The York Theatre Company launches their 50th Anniversary Celebration with the 2019 Fall Musicals in Mufti series featuring three shows which highlight the genius of the legendary Cole Porter through his music and lyrics

On behalf of the Gisela Johnson and the Johnson family, we are informing you that Emmy winning comedic actor, Arte Johnson has passed at 1:45am, July 3rd, 2019.  There are no services planned.  His ashes will be taken to his home away from home in HI, were a private ceremony will be held.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Broadway veteran Elizabeth Josephine 'Jo' Sullivan Loesser passed away yesterday, April 28, from heart failure in her New York City Home. She was 91 years old.

Mystery on the moors becomes comedy on the seacoast, as the Seacoast Repertory Theatre enters the spooky season with Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, a farce based on the Arthur Conan Doyle classic novel 'The Hound of the Baskervilles.'

Doyle will be auctioning off property from the estate of Tony Award winner Barbara Cook. The auctions will begin on February 14, and will include items such as fine jewelry, stage jewelry, accessories, furniture and art.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Barbara Cook has passed away at 89. This is an enormous loss for Broadway, the golden age of television and the music world. According to her son, Adam LeGrant, the cause was respiratory failure.

The musical, which opens August 5, is an adaptation of the classic autobiographical novel by Louisa May Alcott.  Alcott grew up amid economic struggle and intellectual ferment to become a successful writer and early feminist. Her story of the fictional March family depicts the passionate ambition of the youthful Jo March and the emotional journey she takes with her three sisters.

The legendary Tony and Grammy Award winner Barbara Cook will share the stories and songs that shaped her life and career in Barbara Cook: Then and Now, a candid and intimate evening conceived by 3-time Tony Award winner James Lapine and directed by 10-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune.

Based on Hennessy's Doctoral Thesis of the same name, The Myth of the Father takes aim at the theory of, "essentialism," the idea that there are certain parental functions which can only be performed by men or women. But don't worry, whenever the temptation to be taken seriously arises, there is plenty of word play, satire, and slapstick to keep things ridiculous.

This original adaptation for the stage written by David Mauriello with music and lyrics by Robert Johnson, is a production of Awareness UNlimited of Stratham, and is directed by Deb Barry. Musical direction is shared by David Moore and Sabrina Avedisian. The show runs for ten performances from November 21 through December 1.
