Betrayed and overthrown, Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, and his only child Miranda have lived for years in exile on an island of refuse and waste. Now the time has come for a reckoning as Prospero conjures a mighty and catastrophic storm to deliver his enemies to him and begin their torment.

To open its 24th season, First Folio Theatre (Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83.) will begin with the literary-inspired production SHERLOCK'S LAST CASE, by Charles Marowitz. A threat hangs over the world's most famous detective as he faces an opponent he never expected. This thrilling adventure mixes suspense, humor, and breath-stopping surprises. Directed by Janice L. Blixt, SHERLOCK'S LAST CASE previews October 2-4, opens October 5 and runs through November 3, 2019.

Shakespeare's most famous couples face off! Half a millennium before Lucy had some splainin' to do for Ricky, Sam butted heads with Diane and Harry met Sally, Shakespeare had already perfected one of the cornerstones of relationship comedies: the bickering couple. From the hilariously sharp-witted (and sharp-tongued) Katherine going toe to toe with husband-to-be Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew, to the befuddled lovers quartet in A Midsummer Night's Dream, these love spats feature some of the funniest, cleverest and nastiest barbs Shakespeare ever put to parchment.

One of Shakespeare's classic romances, AS YOU LIKE IT, is currently running at First Folio Theatre through August 20. The company has received some complaints about its casting decisions and released a 'Statement of Artistic Integrity' in response.

 The true story of Henrietta Swan Leavitt, one of the historic 'computer ladies' at Harvard's observatory in the early 20th century. Despite never being allowed to use the telescope, Henrietta made ground-breaking discoveries that shook the foundations of astronomy and made possible the work of Dr. Edwin Hubble and every astronomer to follow. Alternately poignant and funny, Silent Sky is a sweet, surprising look at one of the long-forgotten women of history.
