Join EXIT Theatre's publishing arm, EXIT Press, for a very special book launch event for our newest publication, One Dyke's Theater (EXIT Press, June 2019), an anthology spanning the 40+ year playwriting career of Terry Baum. Together with book editor and Lilith Theater company member, Carolyn Myers, Terry Baum will perform and discuss excerpts from the plays in the book, including her award-winning HICK: a Love Story—recently performed at the 2019 San Francisco Fringe Festival.

Chicago LGBT Hall of Famer, two-time After Dark Award-winning entertainer Honey West and two- time After Dark Award winner and Chicago Pressie Award Winner for Best Local Entertainer Freddy Allen, reunite for their first Chicago cabaret performance in over a decade since their Gentry days. This event will take place at Drew's On Halsted, 3102 N. Halsted, on Friday, November 15.

But what if, through some strange bit of Hollywood magic, they were able to come back for a new season? And what if the first episode of that season included the girls doing Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor? The gay gasps would be deafening. Good news, Slipstream Theatre Initiative reimagines Shakespeare's comedy as just that - and invites you to a live filming of Season 8, episode 1: The Golden Girls do Merry Wives!

Project Y Theatre Company gave Broadway World an exclusive sneak peek into rehearsals for their World Premiere of Megan Monaghan Rivas' Three Musketeers: 1941, co-directed by Michole Biancosino and Andrew W. Smith, which is being presented as part of the fourth annual Women in Theatre Festival, June 5-29 at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street New York, NY 10019).

In advance of the 90-minute prime-time event “Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear's 'All in the Family' and 'The Jeffersons','' airing Wednesday, May 22 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The ABC Television Network, getTV will air 30 all-time favorite episodes of the original groundbreaking 1970s comedy series every night May 13-17 beginning at 7 ET.  One of television's most popular and acclaimed series, “All in the Family” starred Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton as Archie and Edith Bunker, with Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers as Mike and Gloria Stivic. The show originally aired from January 12, 1971 to April 8, 1979 and won 22 Emmy Awards out of 56 total nominations.

The Nashville-based 501c3 nonprofit will hold its Tribute to Veterans in Entertainment event on May 14th at the Texas Troubadour Theatre. Hosted by recording artist, Laura Bryna and the Grand Ole Opry's, Juliette Vara, the event will feature star-studded recognition award recipients, celebrity guest presenters, and exclusive music performances. Thanks to a partnership with the Nashville Film Institute, audiences will be able watch the event as it's live-streamed via @savehomefront on Facebook beginning at 8pm CT.

Deborah Grace Winer continues her monthly love affair with New York when her acclaimed musical revue 'NEW YORK: BIG CITY SONGBOOK' returns to Birdland Theatre on Sunday, April 14 at 7:30 pm featuring Klea Blackhurst, LaTanya Hall and Nick Ziobro with Joe Davidian on piano and Jay Leonhart on bass and vocals. Mark Waldrop directs with musical arrangements by John Oddo.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has announced the return of the legendary Miss Coco Peru in her latest solo show, Have You Heard? The Will & Grace star will play three performances only at the Renberg Theatre on Friday and Saturday, April 26 & 27, at 8pm and Sunday, April 28, at 7pm.

The Drama Desk has announced that Drama Desk Award-winning actor Michael Urie (Torch Song, Buyer and Cellar, 'Ugly Betty') will host The 64th Annual Drama Desk Awards, Sunday, June 2 at 8PM at The Town Hall in New York City. This marks Urie's fourth consecutive time hosting the ceremony. Public tickets go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9 at 12PM EST, for the 64th Annual Drama Desk Awards, and can be purchased at www.DramaDeskAwards.com.
