Applications Open For New XR Residencies For Artists

Battersea Arts Centre has announced a new, flexible residency for artists based in England to explore the future of live performance using the very latest in Extended Reality (XR) technology. Supported by Arts Council England, five successful applicants will explore the possibilities of digital content creation, manipulation and distribution, harnessing artists' creativity to connect directly with audiences at a time when traditional avenues have been shut off to them.

Following the announcement of a second lockdown, producer Ameena Hamid Productions partnered with Applecart Arts to ensure the premiere of Pepa Duarte's Eating Myself would still go ahead online this November in spite of the cancellation of its run at the Golden Goose.
Arts Council England Commissions England's Performing Arts Showcase Consortium

The organisations involved have been successful in securing an initial investment of £500,000 from Arts Council England for a pilot year, following an open call in summer 2019 for a consortium to devise and deliver a brand-new performing arts showcase at the Edinburgh festivals from 2021-2023.

Ameena Hamid Productions presents the premiere of Pepa Duarte's Eating Myself, a brand-new show packed with South American flavour about a woman's identity in Peruvian society. Eating Myself, written and performed by Duarte with direction from Sergio Maggiolo, will be running at The Golden Goose Theatre from Tuesday, 10 November - Saturday, 14 November 2020.
