A brand-new production of the number one party musical GREASE is set to debut as Melbourne's summer musical at Her Majesty's Theatre from January 2024 and the Capitol Theatre in Sydney from March 2024.

The 17-track album features Olivia’s final recording, the classic “Jolene” with Dolly Parton, and the previously unreleased [on audio CD or vinyl] “Hopelessly Devoted to You” with Mariah Carey.  Other duet artists include Barry Gibb, John Travolta, Michael McDonald, Cliff Richard, Richard Marx, Delta Goodrem, Kelly Lang, and more.

“Grease Is the Word” is a modern take on the iconic song “Grease,” which was written by Barry Gibb and performed by Frankie Valli and served as the opening track of the 1978 classic musical film. “Grease Is the Word” will be featured alongside 30 original songs in season one of GREASE: RISE OF THE PINK LADIES. Two entertainment icons, Dolly Parton and the late Olivia Newton-John, come together for the first time to reimagine Dolly’s timeless hit “Jolene”. This new version is the last song and music video Olivia recorded before her passing in 2022 and is included on her upcoming album Just the Two of Us: The Duets Collection.

Brandi Carlile won three more awards at the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards, bringing her total number of GRAMMY wins to nine. After winning Best Americana Album (In These Silent Days), Best Rock Song (“Broken Horses”) and Best Rock Performance (“Broken Horses”), Carlile performed “Broken Horses” during the live awards broadcast.

Despite outdated, cringe-inducing tropes, McCoy Rigby Entertainment's new production of this ubiquitous rock-and-roll stage musical---now on stage at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts through February 12---manages to still entertain thanks mostly to the superb musical numbers energetically performed by its talented cast.
