Much loved songwriters Amanda McBroom and John Bucchino will appear together on stage for the very first time in New York City on Dec.16th at the legendary Birdland Jazz. The show is titled a?oeSweet Dreams and Roses,a?? with a repertoire of mainly their own compositions, including some they wrote as a team.

Actress/dancer/singer Sandy Bainum proved once again on Sunday November 10 that she can do it all. It was the premiere of her new cabaret show Ever Blondeward at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal. In the show she payed tribute to great celebrity blondes like Peggy Lee, Doris Day, Mitzi Gaynor, Marilyn Monroe and Betty Hutton, among others, who left their mark on the world as great entertainers. The sold out house were enchanted by Bainum, who is not only beautiful but a glorious singer and raconteur.

They came to the 90 year hotel which was home to Elizabeth Taylor, hosted Rex Harrison and wife renewing their vows, and was where Yves St Laurent debuted his first US Collection, to hear arguably one of the finest artists in the world of Cabaret, KT Sullivan.

The Lost Treasures Collection, a series of rarely performed musical gems, is back for a tenth season at Lakewood Theatre Company on its Side Door Stage. This year three musicals will be presented: The High Life (Oct 18-19, 2019), The Apple Tree (Feb. 21-22, 2020), and I Can Get It For You Wholesale (April 17-18, 2020). This year's theme is a?oeBarbara, Barbara, Barbra,a?? named for the three women (Barbara Cook, Barbara Harris, and Barbra Streisand) who originated their roles in these three shows. The musicals, staged in a concert/cabaret style, are presented script-in-hand, with minimal staging. No sets, no props (free from the usual trappings of a fully staged production).
Lynn University and Jan McArt, producer and director of theatre arts program development, today announced that glamorous Palm Beach philanthropist Lois Pope, who was a singer-actress earlier in her career, is returning to the stage as one of the headliners in the upcoming production of the classic Broadway hit musical Gigi by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. Pope will appear as a?oeAunt Aliciaa?? in the delightful, tune-filled show that will have three performances, March 14-15, at the beautiful Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this season.

In the last year, Porthouse Theatre and The Shaw Festival have done the show, and a Broadway production starring Hugh Jackman as Harold Hill, will begin performances on October 15, 2020. Two-time Tony Award-winning superstar, Sutton Foster, will co-star as Marian the librarian. The production will be directed by four-time Tony Award winner, Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle.
