Durante este acto pudimos escuchar a la presidenta de la Academia Cayetana Guillén Cuervo hablar sobre esta edición, agradecimientos a todas las instituciones y medios implicados, y también lo que conllevan estos premios en el mundo del teatro musical. Asimismo, Antonio Banderas recibió un Premio Especial e hizo hincapié en que 'el teatro es de las pocas cosas que aún no están digitalizadas a día de hoy, que vivimos en directo y en el momento, y no vamos a dejar que eso cambie.'

Mrs. Doubtfire, a new musical based on the 1993 hit family film of the same name, is actually based on the 1987 novel Alias Madame Doubtfire by Anne Fine. The stage musical in all its purposes features music and lyrics by Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick, with a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell. The National Tour is currently onstage in the Carol Morsani Hall, at Tampa’s Straz Center for the Performing Arts.

Children of Eden is currently playing at Stagecrafters’ Baldwin Theatre through April 21st. Though the show has not had notable U.S. professional iterations (such as Off-Broadway) in the more than 30 years since its inception, this story has found eternal life in community theatres. In fact, Children of Eden is already a classic simply because of what it brings to communities worldwide – an introduction to the magical world of theatre.
