PlayCo and WP Theater have revealed the cast of their world premiere co-production of Corinne Jaber’s Munich Medea: Happy Family.

PlayCo and WP Theater have revealed the dates for the world premiere production of Corinne Jaber's 'Munich Medea: Happy Family,' directed by Lee Sunday Evans, from January 30 to February 25.

Houses on the Moon Theater Company will present the world premiere of the play HOTEL HAPPY, written by Camilo Almonacid (The Assignment), directed by Estefanía Fadul (Repertorio Español's Eva Luna), and featuring puppet direction by Matt Acheson (Broadway's War Horse).

Asolo Repertory Theatre will present Douglas Lyons’ CHICKEN & BISCUITS as the third play in its 2023 repertory season. Bianca LaVerne Jones, who served as associate director of the 2021 Broadway production, will direct.

The Hearth Theater Company will present the World Premiere of Happy Life by Kathy Ng (Clubbed Thumb’s Early Career Writers’ Group; New Georges affiliated artist), directed by Kat Yen (Leah Winkler’s Two Mile Hollow; Noah Diaz’ The Juniors), July 22-August 6 at Walkerspace (46 Walker St, New York, NY 10013). 

NAATCO will present the inaugural production of the NAATCO National Partnership Project, Queen, written by playwright and screenwriter Madhuri Shekar (House of Joy) and directed by Aneesha Kudtarkar, which will begin performances Friday June 10th at the A.R.T./New York Mezzanine Theatre (502 West 53rd Street), continuing through July 1st only.

Written by Anna Deavere Smith (Notes From the Field) and directed by Nicole Brewer (Milk Like Sugar), Fires In The Mirror begins performances on Tuesday, January 18th for a limited run through Sunday, February 6, 2022.

Baltimore Center Stage has announced the complete cast and creative team for Fires In The Mirror: Crown Heights, Brooklyn And Other Identities, co-produced by Long Wharf Theatre. 

Colt Coeur, in association with creative producer Emma Orme and director Tara Elliott, will present the premiere of Pleasure Machine, a nine-episode audio thriller that collides Sophie Treadwell’s 1928 expressionist drama Machinal with adrienne maree brown’s Pleasure Activism.

Last year, Sound designer Twi McCallum wrote a 'letter to the industry', expressing the 'grief from a designer's perspective of how we are often not included in this 'diversity' platform, as it is often limited to Black actors, writers, directors, and producers.' Today Twi has released an article to mark the first anniversary of that open letter. 

Audiences can reserve their free tickets to Two River Theater's Tiny Shakes: Romeo and Juliet, co- directed by Aneesha Kudtarkar and Em Weinstein. This newly reimagined theatrical collage created from Two River's popular education program, A Little Shakespeare, will be released May 17 and available until June 30/2021 through Two River's website.
