From family-friendly theatre about a yeti to a full-length evening show about concealing the truth, the festival celebrates the best in new and established theatre-making from across the region.
City Theatre at Sacramento City College completes its 2021-22 season with the smart, emotional, and witty World War II production Decision Height by Meredith Dayna Levy. Lori Ann DeLappe-Grondin will direct the play about the often-overlooked heroes of the Women Airforce Service Pilots. The production opens Thursday, April 28, and plays through Saturday, May 7. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on April 28, 29, 30, May 4, 5 and 6 and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 and Saturday, May 7.

Coming to Perth Theatre from Thursday 21 until Saturday 23 April, Northern Broadsides and New Vic’s production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It is a bold and refreshing take on the bard’s most musical comedy. Directed by former Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Scotland, Laurie Sansom, known by Perth audiences for his stunning direction on his NTS swansong; the dramatic and heart-rending The 306: Dawn, As You Like It features a 12-strong cast of actors include non-binary and disabled performers.

Celebrating its 33rd year and returning to an in-person celebration, the Los Angeles Master Chorale’s annual High School Choir Festival (HSCF), led by Kiki & David Gindler Artistic Director Grant Gershon, will take place at The Music Center’s Grand Park, Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. Bringing together 500 high school students from 18 schools, the Festival will feature music from Sam Cooke and Sara Bareilles, to Reena Esmail and Handel. Sixteen singers from the Los Angeles Master Chorale, conducted by Associate Artistic Director Jenny Wong, will also perform.
