Roundabout Theatre Company has announced complete casting for the Special Benefit Concert Reading of The Pirates of Penzance. The concert will be taking place on Monday, October 17, 2022 at the American Airlines Theatre.

Pasadena Playhouse has announced a Free Ticket Initiative for its critically acclaimed production of Sanctuary City by Pulitzer Prize-winner Martyna Majok (Cost of Living) which is now in its last two weeks through October 9 only.

On October 1, Cacophony Daniels (2017 Bistro and Fruitie Award winner Courter Simmons) splashes onto the Sharon Playhouse stage in UNDER THE 'C', a fun and inspirational cabaret tribute to Grammy- and Oscar-winning playwright and lyricist Howard Ashman that celebrates the lovable misfit in us all.

For the 2nd year, Chelsea Music Hall joins the New York Comedy Festival as an official venue hosting 13 shows with over 50 comedians taking the venue's stage, including Janeane Garofalo, Larry Owens, Ian Lara, Seth Herzog, Alex English, Josh Adam Meyers and Sam Morrison between November 7th and 13th, 2022.

Johnny Berchtold will join the cast of the New York Premiere production of CAMP SIEGFRIED, the new play from Tony Award-nominee BESS WOHL (2ST’s Grand Horizons and Make Believe), directed by Tony Award-winner DAVID CROMER (The Band’s Visit, 2ST’s Man from Nebraska) at Second Stage Theater.

Signature Theatre will present Quiara Alegría Hudes’ My Broken Language, the acclaimed playwright’s stage adaptation of her eponymous memoir, and her return to Signature for the second play in her Premiere Residency. My Broken Language takes place Oct 18-Nov 27, 2022 in the Pershing Square Signature Center’s Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre.

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 will present the world premiere production of YOUR OWN PERSONAL EXEGESIS, a new play by Julia May Jonas, directed by Annie Tippe, which will begin performances Saturday, November 19 and run for six weeks only through Saturday, December 31 at the Claire Tow Theater.  Opening night is Monday, December 5.

Palm Beach Dramaworks opens its 2022-23 season on October 14 (8pm) with Amy Herzog's warm and moving 4000 Miles, the 2012 Obie Award winner for Best New American Play. Performances continue through October 30, with specially priced previews on October 12 and 13 (7:30pm). J. Barry Lewis directs.

Playwrights Horizons will present the New York premiere of Bruce Norris’s Downstate, directed by Pam MacKinnon, October 28–December 11 (opening November 15). This provocative work surrounds a registered address in downstate Illinois, where four men convicted of sex crimes share a group home, living out their days post-incarceration.

The Public Theater, the Barnard Center for Research on Women and the Ntozake Shange Literary Trust have announced the establishment of The Ntozake Shange Social Justice Theater Residency. This rotating two-year playwriting residency is named in honor of Public Theater artist and Barnard alumna (Class of 1970) Ntozake Shange.

Signature Theatre has announced its first-ever LaunchPad Resident—playwright, actor, and musician Melis Aker—inaugurating the new program that supports diverse early-career playwrights and expands the organization’s singular mission of producing a body of work by each resident writer.

Soho Rep will present Montag, written by Kate Tarker, directed by Dustin Wills and with original opera music by Daniel Schlosberg. The world premiere production of Montag runs October 12–November 13 at Soho Rep.

People’s Light is presenting the world premiere of Mushroom, an original play from Pulitzer Prize finalist and Mare of Easttown cast member Eisa Davis. Mushroom runs September 14 through October 16 on the Steinbright Stage.
