Theatre for a New Audience will present Denis Johnson’s Des Moines, the final play from the late author, and the first play by Johnson TFANA has staged, November 29, 2022–January 1, 2023, at Polonsky Shakespeare Center.

THE CENTER AT WEST PARK (CWP), the Upper West Side's cultural hub for diverse, engaging, and boundary-pushing performing arts, announces the Cohort of resident artists selected for the 2022/2023 Object Movement Puppetry Residency & Festival, an annual presentation of new short works developed in residence at The Center at West Park.

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre has announced the lineup of its 46 th Milestone Season beginning in the new year with the world premiere of the new play Memorial by Livian Yeh, followed by celebrating Asian Heritage Month in May and closing the season with the return of the annual play festival NuWorks 2023.

East West Players will present The Brothers Paranormal. Written by East West Players multi-produced playwright Prince Gomolvilas and directed by Jeff Liu, The Brothers Paranormal performs November 17 through December 11, 2022 with opening night on Sunday, November 20. 

The Artist Co-Op is set to present three 29-Hour Workshops of new work by the first cohort of resident playwrights Christin Eve Cato, SMJ, and Dave Osmundsen. The three playwrights have spent the last 6 months developing new work in TAC's first New Play residency, the Cold Read Residency.

SOHO PLAYHOUSE announced the upcoming engagement of Dear Mom, Sorry for Being a Bitch for its additional run, now on the mainstage. Created by Christine Covode (UCB, Second City), Dear Mom, Sorry for Being a Bitch will begin its 10-performance limited run in-person at Soho Playhouse's (15 Vandam St, New York, NY 10013) Mainstage on November 2, 2022.

Molly Rosa Houlahan joins the artistic team at People's Light as Associate Producing Director. Founded in 1974, People's Light serves as one of Pennsylvania's most accomplished professional non-profit theatres, known for its resident company of artists, wide array of productions, and innovative work with young people. In this role, Houlahan serves as a creative producer, collaborating with artistic and executive leadership to oversee the organization's creative and civic vision.

The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) has just announced the first major New York revival of Lorraine Hansberry’s The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window, directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman at the BAM Harvey Theater beginning February 4 and opening February 23, 2023.

54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents Brandon James Gwinn in Four Pianos on Thursday November 3rd at 9:30pm. Richard Rodgers Award winner and celebrated nightlife pianist Brandon James Gwinn (he/they), flanked by an expanded version of their T-shirt Tuxedo Trio, brings an evening of music to Broadway’s Supper Club tributing four of his favorite singing pianists: Blossom Dearie, Frances Faye, Diana Krall, and the fabulous Bobby Short. 

Hero Theatre will spotlight the stories of Black women with two new commissions. Phanésia Pharel joins Hero as the newest commission for Nuestro Planeta. Playwright Amina Henry, whose play Troy was commissioned and presented by Hero in 2019, returns to riff on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing in a follow-up commission.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre’s Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer and Director of the Ground Floor Madeleine Oldham announced the Residency Lab participants and the return to full capacity of the Residency Lab portion of The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep’s Center for the Creation and Development of New Work.
