Consortium of Asian American Theaters and Artists (CAATA) announces its new, monthly ConFest Virtual Series featuring the work of Asian American artists and theatres from across the country. The virtual series will explore the theme of the upcoming 7th Annual Asian American Theater Festival & Conference (ConFest) 'Kuʻu ʻĀina, Kuʻu Piko, Kuʻu Kahua - Return to the Source' in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi in May 2021, which centers the voices of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander theater practitioners and will feature the thriving theater community of Hawaiʻi, where Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander faces on stage are the norm, not the exception.

A limited run of HAMLET 90, adapted from the original play by William Shakespeare and directed by Sheila Bandyopadhyay will play at The Brick Theater at 579 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn as part of The Brick's Shakespeare in the Theater festival. Performances will be Tuesday August 13, Wednesday August 14 and Friday August 16, 2019 at 7pm. Tickets ($20 General Admission) are available for advanced purchase at www.bricktheater.com. Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, a nonprofit theatre company now in its 15th season, announces a unique-and unpredictable--evening of readings of new commissioned short plays about Charles Dickens on Saturday, December 15 at Downtown Arts, 70 E 4th Street, NYC.
