Village Originals has announced the official selections for the 9th Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place August 13-16, 2009 at the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre in Issaquah. This is an invitation only event, not open to the public.

A variety of music, dance, and theatre performances, and a film series comprise the 2009 fall season for Harlem Stage, a performing arts center and one of the country's top presenters, producers, and supporters of works by artists of color.

Family Opera Initiative is excited to present the musical pre-premiere of Goodnight Moon, this year's Opera & Ice Cream performance. Goodnight Moon is a lullaby for singer and piano continuing composer Glen Roven's settings to music of celebrated children's author, Margaret Wise Brown. It will premiere next May at Carnegie Hall with the Buffalo Philharmonic. The pre-premiere musical event is executive produced by Family Opera Initiative founder Grethe Barrett Holby and produced by Ray Wetmore.

Rubicon Theatre Company has announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of THE BEST IS YET TO COME: THE MUSIC OF CY COLEMAN, which began previews July 9 at Rubicon's intimate 200-seat home at 1006 E.
