Westport Country Playhouse Presents A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS CAROL

Westport Country Playhouse, in partnership with WSHU Public Radio, will present a free-of-charge audio play, “A Merry Little Christmas Carol,” on Saturday, December 19, at noon, followed by a rebroadcast on Saturday, December 26, at 8 p.m. WSHU frequencies and locations are listed at wshu.org in the About Us drop-down menu.

Westport Country Playhouse Will Present Playreading of MRS. MANNERLY Starring Richard Kind and Isabel Keating

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of 'Mrs. Mannerly,' a comedy about a young boy and his manners teacher, by Jeffrey Hatcher, on Monday, March 23, at 7 p.m. The cast includes award-winning Broadway, film, and television actors Isabel Keating as Mrs. Mannerly, and Richard Kind as Jeffrey. Co-curators and co-directors of the Script in Hand Series are Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist, and Mark Shanahan, director, actor, and playwright. Tickets to Script in Hand Playreadings are $20 each.

Westport Country Playhouse Announces Co-Curator Of Script In Hand Playreading Series

Westport Country Playhouse has named director, actor, and playwright Mark Shanahan as co-curator of the 2020 Script in Hand Playreading Series. He will collaborate with Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and current curator of the Series. The Playhouse's Script in Hand Series offers readings of dramas and comedies by professional actors using their skills to catapult the audience's imagination without benefit of scenery or costumes.

Westport Country Playhouse Script in Hand Playreading of MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLY

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of 'Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley,' the romantic comedy sequel to Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice,' by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon, on Monday, December 16, at 7 p.m. The reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the comedy/drama, a?oeVisiting Mr. Greena?? by Jeff Baron, on Monday, November 18, at 7 p.m. The cast includes Tim Jerome as Mr. Green and Charles Socarides as Ross Gardiner. The reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of a new comedy thriller, "Murder Too," by David Wiltse of Weston, former Westport Country Playhouse playwright-in-residence, on Monday, May 6, at 7 p.m. The cast includes Playhouse alumni David Beach, Joanna Gleason, Deirdre Madigan, and Andrew Veenstra. The reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the romantic thriller, "Tricks of the Trade," on Monday, March 25, at 7 p.m.  Written by the late Sidney Michaels, who lived in Westport, Connecticut, the reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the romantic comedy, "The Cemetery Club," on Monday, February 25, at 7 p.m.  Written by Ivan Menchell, the reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each. 

Westport Country Playhouse Hosts Playreading Of TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of "Tuesdays with Morrie," based on the best-selling memoir by Mitch Albom, on Monday, December 17, at 7 p.m.  Written by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom, the reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.

Westport Country Playhouse Holds Reading of I HATE HAMLET Featuring Mary Beth Peil, Allison Altman, and More

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of "I Hate Hamlet," the comedy that conjures the ghost of actor John Barrymore, on Monday, November 5, at 7 p.m.  Barrymore will be played by four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines. Written by Paul Rudnick, the reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.

Sutton Foster To Headline Westport Country Playhouse's September Gala

Tony Award-winning Broadway and television star Sutton Foster will headline Westport Country Playhouse's 2018 Gala on Saturday evening, September 8, performing Broadway standards with a trio of musicians. "Sutton effectively stops whatever Broadway show she's in with her amazing combination of talents in dance, song, and a wicked sense of humor," said Mark Lamos, Westport Country Playhouse artistic director. "She's a dazzling throwback to the great Broadway stars of yesteryear."

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the award-winning drama, "The Whipping Man" by Matthew Lopez, a tale of loyalty, deceit, and deliverance, on Monday, March 19, at 7 p.m.  The reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Westport Country Playhouse Hosts International Women's Day Event Featuring Joanna Gleason and More

Westport Country Playhouse will host the second annual 'Letters to Our Daughters,' a free-of-charge event to celebrate International Women's Day, on Thursday, March 8, at 7 p.m. A diverse group of 13 women, including Tony Award winners Joanna Gleason and Judith Ivey, and 'This Is Us' series regular Susan Kelechi Watson, will read essays and poems written by female authors on global women's issues.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of 'Better Late,' a romantic comedy by Larry Gelbart, on Monday, February 26, at 7 p.m. Gelbart was a creator and producer of the television series 'M*A*S*H,' and a co-writer of the film 'Tootsie' and the Broadway musicals 'City of Angels' and 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.'
