About the video Johanson declared, 'On one level 'The Deep And The Dirty' is two references to the American South.

I've been a fan of Hadestown since its concept album release in 2010. With music and lyrics by Anaïs Mitchell, the album featured vocals by Mitchell herself alongside the likes of Justin Vernon and Ani DiFranco. Called a 'folk opera' at the time, this album laid the foundation for what would become the 2019 Tony-winning Broadway musical Hadestown.

Singer-songwriter Abraham Alexander’s highly anticipated debut album, SEA/SONS, is due for release on Dualtone Records. In anticipation of the forthcoming record—which features appearances by Mavis Staples and Gary Clark Jr.—Alexander is sharing the new single “Tears Run Dry” alongside a video.

The recording is taken from the documentary film and soundtrack Take Me to the River: New Orleans, which celebrates the rich musical history, the heritage, legacy, and influence of New Orleans and Louisiana music through live sessions with local artists. “Stompin’ Ground” was produced by the film’s director Martin Shore and Eric Krasno.
