A couple of weeks ago, Actors' Equity Association ended its strike against the Broadway League related to development of new work. Most of the press regarding the strike and its termination are related to the Lab Agreement-after the strike, and a #NotALabRat social media movement, Equity members will receive profit participation for Labs. But there is a lot of the story that this spin misses.

Artists for World Peace, a nonprofit organization, recently hosted its 8th annual Broadway event on Sunday, February 17th, at The Green Room 42. Check out photos from the evening below!

Opening the 2019 winter series is Carmelina, with music by Burton Lane, lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, additional lyrics by Barry Harman, and book by Joseph Stein and Alan Jay Lerner. Performances began Saturday afternoon, January 26, 2019 and continue for 11 performances only through February 3, 2019. The show officially opened last night and BroadwayWorld was there. As BroadwayWorld reported this week, the Broadway community has been taking a stand with Actors' Equity in the 'Not a Lab Rat' campaign, to increase the minimum salary for developmental labs, as well as get profit sharing for lab participants.Actors' Equity and the Broadway League have been disputing the issue, but Equity says they have reached an impasse and are now officially calling for a strike in a new statement:

More than 20 years after 'it started with a dream,' Pamela's First Musical will have its world premiere this fall at Two River Theater. The theater launches its 25th Anniversary Season with this long-awaited show, a valentine to the musical theater and a testament to its enduring power.

Two River Theater opens their 20182019 season with the world premiere of 'Pamela's First Musical.' The show will be on the Red Bank stage from 98 to 1017. Broadwayworld.com interviewed Andrea Burns about her career and her role as Mary Ethel Bernadette in the production.

Featuring a creative team with impressive theatrical pedigrees-with numerous honors among them, including multiple Tony Award wins and more than 20 nominations-a cast of 15 and an eight-piece band, Pamela's First Musical will be the largest and most ambitious production in Two River's history.
