The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. The nominations were announced this morning by the current stars of Waitress, Shoshana Bean and Jeremy Jordan, at the official announcement event at Sardi's Restaurant, which was streamed live online here at BroadwayWorld.

On his day off from appearing as Hermes in the Broadway production of Anais Mitchell's Hadestown at the Walter Kerr Theatre, two-time Tony nominee and Emmy winner Andre De Shields headed to the Victoria Theater at NJPAC in Newark to celebrate his company of fabulous singers and dancers under his direction in the Crossroads Theatre Company and NJPAC's co-production of Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Ladies. Later this week, on March 22, Hadestown will begin preview performances at the Walter Kerr Theatre, ahead of a Wednesday, April 17 official opening night. On February 15th, he'll release his most vivid album yet titled There Is Another World via Righteous Babe Records. Today he unveiled the first look at the new record with the lead song 'The Fox,' a hypnotic pulse of altered guitar within a swirl of sounds: wineglass rims, the long breaths and clatter of a bass clarinet, and icy accordion tones underneath Mulvey's gravel baritone vocals.

Anais Mitchell recently stopped by West Virginia's iconic Mountain Stage Radio Show to be part of their 35th Anniversary and treated the audience to stripped down versions of a couple of Hadestown songs along with a few selections from her solo catalogue.

Following record-breaking runs at New York Theatre Workshop and Canada's Citadel Theatre, Hadestown just opened at the National Theatre prior to Broadway.

On Tuesday night, HADESTOWN opened in the Olivier Theatre at the National Theatre in London.
