Performances of Unmasked: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber began last night, Thursday, January 30 at Paper Mill Playhouse.

Kent Tritle begins the new decade with his first organ recital at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in two years, Bach's St. John Passion with the Cathedral Choir, and both a new edition of Brahms's A German Requiem and the world premiere of A Nation of Others, an oratorio about Ellis Island with music by Paul Moravec and libretto by Mark Campbell, with the Oratorio Society of New York.

The cast just met the press and they're giving us a sneak peek of songs like 'Superstar', 'Buenos Aires,' 'All I Ask of You,' and 'As If We Never Said Goodbye' plus giving us some insight as to what to expect from the new show!

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 40 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2020 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 15 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

Performances begin Thursday, January 30, 2020, and will continue through Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Paper Mill Playhouse (22 Brookside Drive, Millburn, NJ). Four half-hour long mini-operas inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, a watershed moment in LGBTQ civil rights, will have their world premiere at NYU's Shubert Theatre on May 18, 2019 and within the modern-day Stonewall Inn itself on May 19 and 20. The mini-opera performances will conclude NYU's Stonewall at 50 Series, a collection of panels, performances, events, and discussions commemorating the riots and their legacy.

For this week's throwback, we are highlighting the 2006 Broadway revival of Company that opened on this day, November 29th, starring Raúl Esparza as Bobby, as well as Barbara Walsh as Joanne. Currently running on the West End is a reimagining of the musical with Rosalie Craig as Bobbie and Patti LuPone as Joanne! The acclaimed revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical Carousel, directed by three-time Tony Award® winner Jack O'Brien and choreographed by 2018 Tony Award winner Justin Peck, announced today that the show will play its final Broadway performance at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street) on Sunday, September 16, 2018. Preview performances began on Wednesday, February 28 and Carousel officially opened on Thursday, April 12, 2018.

Carousel and The Actors Fund announced today that the new hit revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical will host a special Mondaymatinee performace on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th St.), with proceeds to benefit The Actors Fund.
