The Academy Awards' voters have given the Best Supporting Actress nomination to Kathy Bates' portrayal of a doting mother, Bobi Jewell, in Clint Eastwood's biographical drama Richard Jewell. This nod is her fourth acting nomination from the Academy Awards.

Theatre Aspen announced today that three-time Emmy, two-time Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner, as well as a two-time Screen Actors Guild Award nominee, Beau Bridges, has been added to the organization's inaugural one-person show festival, Solo Flights, in Coach: An Evening with John Wooden, a new one-character play about legendary basketball coach, John Wooden, written by John Wilder. Coach: An Evening with John Wooden will open the festival on Wednesday, September 18 at 7:00pm and play an encore performance on Saturday, September 21 at 4:00pm.

Multiple award-winning Sideways author, Rex Pickett, has formed a joint venture with EFG-Renascence Productions to develop a Broadway musical based on his hit film, as well as utilize the intellectual property across multiple media platforms and brand extensions, it was jointly announced today by EFG-Renascence founder, Solomon J. Legendary rock band Blind Melon's Christopher Thorn and Roger Stevens are Tom Needham's special guests this upcoming Thursday, May 2nd at 6 pm on WUSB's THE SOUNDS OF FILM. They will be discussing their innovative documentary, ALL I CAN SAY, which is having its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in the 'Viewpoints' Documentary Program.

Kronos Quartet's David Harrington will be Tom Needham's exclusive guest this Thursday, April 18th at 6 pm on WUSB's THE SOUNDS OF FILM. The two will be discussing A THOUSAND THOUGHTS: A Live Documentary with Kronos Quartet written and directed by Sam Green and Joe Bini. The multimedia piece, which has already earned lavish praise at the Sundance Film Festival, is making its New York City debut on Thursday, April 25th at The Town Hall.
