The reimagined 50th Anniversary tour of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will come to Toronto from May 3 – 12, 2024 at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre.  

Growing up in the church was not without its challenges. As a longtime member of the RTC (religious trauma club), I have spent much time since those days deconstructing what I was taught so that I could truly learn things for myself; so that I could learn more about myself. Although those days are behind me, the stories and parables from the best selling book across the globe still hold worthwhile life lessons. Among those stories is 'the big one' - the life and times of Jesus Christ. The story of Jesus has been told through a plethora of artistic mediums throughout the centuries, but none so famous in this lifetime as Andrew Lloyd Weber's Jesus Christ Superstar now on its 50th Anniversary Tour and the latest production to make a stop at DCPA.

Following critically acclaimed, sold-out engagements in the UK, the reimagined 50th Anniversary tour of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will come to Lincoln for 5 performances from Thursday, February 1 through Sunday, February 4.

Following critically acclaimed, sold-out engagements in the UK, the reimagined 50th Anniversary tour of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will come to Schenectady from April 5 to April 7. The 2017 Olivier awarding-winning production from Regent's Park Open Air Theatre goes on sale to the general public on Thursday, Nov. 9.

I had the privilege of being able to watch this production on opening night, and it was truly spectacular. From the beginning with the powerful orchestra, to the end with an impactful lesson on the consequences of your actions. 

The iconic JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR rises triumphantly at the Ohio Theatre as part of its reimagined 50th Anniversary tour.  Returning to its rock-album roots with a focus more on rock music than story, the concert spectacle moves at a swift 90 minute pace with no intermission, proving that Jesus’ rockstar appeal is eternal, even at 50.

What did our critic think of JESUS CHRIST, SUPERSTAR at Ohio Theater? Alex Stone has not lived in a world without JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. As a result, Stone feels a little bit humbled to be part of the show’s 50th anniversary national tour that rolls into town Oct. 3-8 at the Ohio Theater (39 E. State Street in downtown Columbus).
