The Scott Dunn Orchestra has its inaugural concert The Hollywood Modernists - the Second Golden Age of Film Scoring on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 7:30pm at the Bram Goldsmith Theater at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. 

On a cold gray April day, Resavoir gathered at 'les sons du cosmos' studio in Little Village, Chicago, to record a few tunes including a beautiful rendition of the Alex North composition 'Love Theme from Spartacus.' Now, it’s available across all digital streaming platforms. Listen to it here!

Phil Tippett (Star Wars, Jurassic Park) created the film’s special effects, pioneering a new technique called “go motion” that incorporates blurring into each frame for more realistic images.  Vermithrax Pejorative, the fire-breathing creature at the center of the story, was created using a combination of go motion and 16 massive dragon puppets.  

GHOST THE MUSICAL at Toby’s Dinner Theater in Columbia, based 1990's movie Ghost, starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze, offers romance, drama and retro vibes. The 1955 tune “Unchained Melody” strings the whole thing together. Cast and orchestra are harmonic and wonderfully watchable. Production values are excellent and dinner is delicious.

Pittsburgh Festival Opera has released the details of its 2020 schedule. Productions this season include classic opera, one world premiere, one Pennsylvania premiere and the conclusion of Pittsburgh's Ring Cycle with scenes from Siegfried and Twilight of the Gods in concert. The Festival also presents a wider breadth of programming in different venues to include lectures, a poetry reading, two concerts by its Young Artists Program and festival favorite Daphne Alderson. The Festival runs from July 11 until July 26, 2020.
