Original Theatre Company, the production company behind the critically acclaimed lockdown productions of Sebastian Faulks's Birdsong Online and Louise Coulthard's Watching Rosie, are delighted to present a new commission by Torben Betts, Apollo 13: The Dark Side of The Moon. 

Original Theatre Company's recent critically acclaimed, innovative online production of Rachel Wagstaff's adaptation of Sebastian Faulks's best-selling novel Birdsong has spurred the company on to produce another online production while theatres remain closed to live performances.

The trailer has been released for the innovative online production of BIRDSONG, adapted and abridged by Rachel Wagstaff from Sebastian Faulks's acclaimed novel. Birdsong will be available from 1 July - the anniversary of the Battle of the Somme - for 72 hours.

The Original Theatre Company are streaming a digital version of their touring production of Sebastian Faulks's Birdsong from 1-4 July. We talked to adaptor Rachel Wagstaff about her career, how the show has evolved, and what she thinks of the current situation with theatres in lockdown.

There will be a fully cast, abridged virtual production of Rachel Wagstaff's highly acclaimed adaptation of Sebastian Faulks's best-selling novel BIRDSONG, streamed online on 1 July 2020, the anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. 

In light of the closure of theatres across the UK due to COVID-19, the Original Theatre Company's productions of Alan Bennett's THE HABIT OF ART and Ali Milles's THE CROFT, both of which were touring the UK, will now each have an online launch performance.

In light of the most recent government advice due to COVID-19, The Original Theatre Company's production of Alan Bennett's THE HABIT OF ART, which was due to open at Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne on Wednesday 18 March 2020, will now perform a closed filmed performance on Wednesday 18 March 2020 at 2pm.

Coming out of RADA was both bitter and sweet, since I enjoyed my time there so much, but knowing I'd landed a role in the The Night Watch as soon as I graduated was a fantastic feeling! Being part of a touring production has definitely kept me on my toes, due to the changing venues and show times, which is great because it's improved my adaptability and stamina as an actor. Especially with a show like The Night Watch, which is a play that constantly has scenes bleeding into each other

59E59 Theaters is thrilled welcome to Brits Off Broadway the US premiere of CAROLINE'S KITCHEN, written by Torben Betts and directed by Alastair Whatley. Produced by Original Theatre Company, Ghost Light Theatre & Eilene Davidson, CAROLINE'S KITCHEN begins performances on Thursday, April 25 for a limited engagement through Saturday, May 25.

59E59 Theaters announce the line-up of shows for 2019's Brits Off Broadway, the critically acclaimed festival dedicated to featuring the UK's most innovative and provocative theater in New York City. Brits Off Broadway begins on Tuesday, April 16 and runs through Sunday, June 30.

Caroline's Kitchen has been simmering away since 2016, when we commissioned Torben Betts to write a brand-new play about a (fictional…) celebrated TV chef whose gleaming life in front of the cameras masked an escalating crisis behind them.

Jasmyn Banks and Tom England will join the previously announced Caroline Langrishe, Aden Gillett, James Sutton and Elizabeth Boag in the 2019 national tour of Torben Betts's biting comedy, CAROLINE'S KITCHEN, beginning on 24 January 2019 at Derby Theatre, running through to 13 April 2019 at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester. This will be followed by an off-Broadway season in New York Spring 2019. There will be a national press night at Cambridge Arts Theatre on Tuesday 29 January 2019.

Torben Betts's biting comedy, CAROLINE'S KITCHEN, was staged earlier this year on tour and at Park Theatre, London, under the title Monogamy, starring Janie Dee. Betts and his producers, Original Theatre Company, under the Artistic Direction of Alastair Whatley, have reworked the play and, with a new cast led by Caroline Langrishe, Aden Gillett, James Sutton and Elizabeth Boag (further casting to be announced), will begin a new national tour on 24 January 2019 at Derby Theatre, running through to 13 April 2019 at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester. This will be followed by an off-Broadway season in New York Spring 2019.

Charlie Brooks and Patrick Ryecart play Sally and Mike respectively in the UK tour and London run of Torben Betts's new play MONOGAMY. Janie Dee plays Caroline Mortimer.  They are joined by Jack Archer as Leo, Genevieve Gaunt as Amanda and Jack Sandle as Graeme.
