Last night, the hugely anticipated revival of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, starring two-time Tony Award, Grammy Award, and Emmy Award-winning star Hugh Jackman as Professor Harold Hill and two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as Marian Paroo opened triumphantly on Broadway.

Second Stage Theater's production of Lynn Nottage's new play CLYDE'S opened just last night, Tuesday November 23, 2021, at Second Stage's Broadway home, the Hayes Theater (240 W 44th Street at 8th Avenue).

On Saturday, the multi-Emmy Award-winning All-Star Orchestra received its 8th and 9th awards at the 64th Annual New York Emmy Awards Ceremony of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Second Stage Theater has announced a series of social justice initiatives centered around the upcoming Broadway production of Lynn Nottage’s play, Clyde’s, directed by Kate Whoriskey. Clyde’s centers around the lives of four formerly incarcerated kitchen staff working at a sandwich shop and looking to reclaim their lives. 

Ann P Meredith is one of 500 New York City-based artists to receive $5,000 through the City Artist Corps Grants program, presented by The New York Foundation for the Arts and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, with support from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment as well as Queens Theatre.

This year honoring Debbie Harry and Cindy Sherman and welcoming the next avant-garde with performances by Bri Blvck, Ravi Coltrane, L’Rain, and Moses Sumney, the gala will, as a COVID safety precaution, take place outside The Kitchen’s building (512 W. 19th Street) between 10th and 11th Avenues.

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts announced today that Jason Robert Brown, Savion Glover, Priscilla López, Susan Stroman, Marisha Wallace, and Christopher Wheeldon have joined the growing list of Broadway stars participating in I'm Still Here: A Virtual Benefit for the Billy Rose Theatre Division, airing June 23, 2021 on Broadway On Demand at 8pm EST and 8pm PST. The fundraiser will help raise critical funds for the Library for the Performing Arts' beloved Theatre Division as it celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.

The auction will be launched on November 9th and will continue until November 15th.

Filmmaker and founder of ARRAY, AvaDuVernay will accept the inaugural Marian MacDowell Arts Advocacy Award during MacDowell's Virtual National Benefit on October 19, 2020. MacDowell Fellow and Madame Chairman of the Board Nell Painter will host a free evening that features presentations from MacDowell Fellows in theater, poetry, film, and music.

Browne and Shadenia Sivad and appear in Woodie King, Jra??s New Federal Theatrea??s She Speaks, He Speaks, Generations Speak: Black Words Matter,  a two part virtual poetry jam on September 21 and September 28 at 7:00pm.  The program is free.

10 PM With Galinsky is a new, thirty-minute talk-variety show that stars performer, artist, activist Robert Galinsky streaming live each night from his Alphabet City NYC studio. Galinsky interviews celebrities, newsmakers, and exceptional people doing extraordinary things.

On November 6, 2019, The New York Landmarks Conservancy will host its 26th Living Landmarks Celebration at The Plaza. In addition to Mark Morris, this year's honorees are Carole Bailey French, Ted Mathas, H. Carl McCall, Emily K. Rafferty and Barbara & Donald Tober. The following previous honorees will also be involved: David Patrick Columbia as host, Peter Duchin and his Orchestra will provide entertainment, and Liz & Jeff Peek and Patsy & Jeff Tarr as Honorary Co-Chairs for the evening. More than 500 guests are expected to attend this 26th annual tribute.

Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education's annual gala, Fiesta, was held at The Plaza Hotel on October 15, 2019. The evening honored Ambassador Mary Dawkins and Brigadier General Peter Dawkins, John Hardy Jewelry, Edgar Legaspi, and Juan Montoya with the Casita Maria Gold Medals of Honor. The evening's host was Sissi Fleitas. The award is bestowed to individuals in recognition of their contribution to the worlds of arts, education and philanthropy. The festive evening began with cocktails, followed by a dinner dance to the tune of Bob Hardwick's Latin inspired tunes.
