As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Elsie Fest, Broadway's outdoor music festival, will be back on August 29 at the 2021 BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival. Now in its 6th year, the event was founded by Darren Criss and celebrates stars and songs from the stage and screen.

Legendary composer/arranger Tom Kitt joined the TodayTix at Tavern series to celebrate the release of his debut studio album, Reflect.

BIRDLAND THEATER will present “The Lineup” with Susie Mosher – the wild, anything-goes variety show featuring entertainers from the Broadway, cabaret and comedy scenes – every Tuesday evening at 8:30 PM.

In addition to being nominated for a Tony Award® this year, Tom Kitt has won a Pulitzer Prize, two Tony Awards®, a GRAMMY Award®, and an Emmy Award®. Tom’s debut album Reflect is about finding your voice when you need it most, and features songs co-written and performed by some of Broadway’s biggest stars. A true collaboration that captures the hope and heartbreak of these tumultuous times.

Earlier this week, the New York Theatre community gathered for a private screening of the upcoming film RESPECT, which is out in theatres starting today, August 13. Star of the film, Jennifer Hudson, director Liesl Tommy and more were on hand for the big night.

BIRDLAND THEATER will present Eric Comstock in his new fall residency for four Saturdays in September: September 4, 11, 18 and 25, at 5:00 PM.  There is a $30 music charge. Birdland is located at 315 West 44th Street in New York.

The new documentary film, The Show Must Go On, premiered last night in front of a live audience at Broadway’s Majestic Theatre, home of The Phantom of the Opera, the longest running show in Broadway history, to benefit and celebrate the work of The Actors Fund. The special event featured performances by Josh Groban, Sierra Boggess, Adrienne Warren, Ariana DeBose, Shereen Pimentel, Ali Ewoldt, and more and you can catch highlights below!

The film was presented in front of a live audience at the home of The Phantom of the Opera, the longest running show in Broadway history, to benefit and celebrate the work of The Actors Fund.

The Rady Shell officially opened on August 6 with Rafael Payare conducting the San Diego Symphony in the world premiere of a new work for orchestra and turntable by Mason Bates and performances featuring cellist Alisa Weilerstein, bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green, and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.

Bryant Park Picnic Performances' season of free, live performances continued on Friday, July 30 at 7pm with Broadway rising star Adrienne Warren, as part of this season's Carnegie Hall Citywide Series. 

The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park—a spectacular new year-round venue with 360-degree views of San Diego's downtown, marina, and bay—will open with a weekend celebration as the first permanent outdoor home of the San Diego Symphony.

Sony Masterworks has released “I Didn’t Get to Say Goodbye,” the next single off Tony, Emmy, Grammy and Pulitzer Prize Award-winning composer Tom Kitt’s debut studio album Reflect, out August 13.

The San Diego Symphony will celebrate its opening weekend with 'The Best of Broadway,' on August 7th featuring Broadway luminaries Megan Hilty, Norm Lewis, Kelli O'Hara and Adrienne Warren.
