Brenda Braxton, Javier Colon, Adam Kantor, Cassandra Kubinski, Beth Leavel, Bonnie Milligan, Christine Pedi, and Paige Price came together for Best in Shows, a star-studded cabaret evening benefiting the Humane Society of New York, last night, October 14, at Feinstein's/ 54 Below. The evening honored Andy Karl and Orfeh, who were awarded the Humane Society of New York's Sandy Fund Award in recognition of their deep concern and support of the needs of rescued animals. 

Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts (August: Osage County) returns to Broadway this season with Linda Vista, a brutally comedic look at Wheeler, a 50-year-old divorcee in the throes of a mid-life spiral. LINDA VISTA will play a strictly limited 8-week engagement, officially opening last night, October 10, at the Hayes Theatre. We're taking you to the red carpet below!

Tony Award & Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan returns to Broadway with the second of his two exhilarating dramas celebrating Lyndon B. Johnson's legacy: The Great Society starring Brian Cox ('Succession'), directed by Bill Rauch. This new play officially opened on Broadway last night, October 1 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65th St). This is a 12-week limited engagement.

Last night, Harry Connick Jr. hosted an intimate screening  of JUDY at CROSBY ST. HOTEL for stars Renée Zellweger and Finn Wittrock.

The Award will be presented by Richard Blake, who co-starred with Orfeh and Karl in Legally Blonde, The Musical.

Karl and Orfeh be awarded the Humane Society of New York's Sandy Fund Award in recognition of their deep concern and support of the needs of rescued animals.

I really enjoyed the Eran Kolirin's 2007 Israeli-Egyptian film 'The Band's Visit' . The story involved the Alexandria Ceremonial Police Orchestra who get lost in Israel on their way to a concert performance at the Arab Cultural Center in a large city named Petal Tikvah and instead the bus they take arrives at the small town of Bet Hatikva. With the next bus not due until the next day, the musicians are invited to spend the night with the town natives (there is no hotel) and have dinner. The moving film tackles the subject of Egyptians and Israelis in 1996 who in 1967 had a hard-fought war on the Sinai Peninsula.
