Composer Eric Nathan releases Some Favored Nook, a new album featuring a song cycle that sets the writings of Emily Dickinson to music. The album, with a libretto by Mark Campbell, explores themes of love, war, and women's rights.

New York Classical Players will present two performances of Hommage à J.S. Bach, featuring the U.S. premiere of Vivian Fung's Concerto for Two Violins and String Orchestra, as well as Eric Nathan's Dancing with J. S. Bach No. 1, both of which draw inspiration from Bach's musical innovations.

Collage New Music will present the world premiere of composer Eric Nathan's Short Stories. Held at Pickman Concert Hall at the Longy School of Music, the concert will feature the Boston premieres of Talia Amar's When a Dream Becomes Reality and Marjorie Merryman's Four Images, plus Andrew Imbrie's Pilgrimage in honor of Imbrie's 100th birthday.

On Friday, December 17, 2021 at 8PM CT/9PM ET, PBS will premiere the national broadcast of Live from Bradley Symphony Center: Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. The recording is of Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's October 2, 2021 season opening concert, A Grand Opening, which featured the world premiere of Eric Nathan's Opening.

Composer Eric Nathan will release the world premiere recording of Missing Words (2014-2021) on January 21, 2022 on New Focus Recordings. Performed by the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, American Brass Quintet, cellist Parry Karp and pianist Christopher Karp, International Contemporary Ensemble, Neave Trio, and Hub New Music.

On Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 8:00pm, composer Eric Nathan will make his Boston orchestral conducting debut leading the New England Philharmonic in their season opening concert at All Saints Parish.

The Walter W. Naumburg Foundation's 2021 International Vocal Competition concluded on Thursday, May 27, naming Erin Wagner, a mezzo-soprano from El Paso, Texas, the winner.  Ms. Wagner's prize includes a cash award of $25,000, two New York concerts, and a commissioned work. 

The Dryden Ensemble will celebrate Bach’s birthday by streaming its 2020 performance of Bach’s St. John Passion on beginning on Sunday, March 21 at 3 pm.

The Dryden Ensemble presents Bach's St. John Passion as the crowning event in their 25th Anniversary Season. There will be three performances: Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14, both at 7:30 p.m. at All Saints' Church, 16 All Saints' Road in Princeton, New Jersey and Sunday, March 15 at 3:00 p.m.at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Road, Solebury, Pennsylvania. General admission tickets are $40-45 per concert and student tickets are $10 with a valid ID. Tickets may be purchased online at drydenensemble.org or at the door.

One of the highlights of Tafelmusik's 2019/20 season is sure to be Bach's St John Passion, a profound work based on text from the gospel according to St John, March 26 to 29, 2020 at Koerner Hall, TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning. Ivars Taurins directs Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir, along with guest soloists Jana Miller, soprano; Krisztina Szabó, mezzo-soprano; Charles Daniels, tenor; William Sharp, baritone; and Andrew Mahon, bass-baritone. Principal Guest Conductor David Charles Abell returns to his hometown of Philadelphia for Cole Porter's Broadway: Too Darn Hot, the explosive penultimate performance of The Philly POPS 40th Anniversary Season, April 12-14 at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. 

Today Music Director Elisa Citterio unveiled Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra's 2019/20 season, which highlights the freshness and vigour at the heart of everything Tafelmusik undertakes. Old meets new in unprecedented ways, including Tafelmusik's first-ever foray into the music of the late Romantic composer Tchaikovsky, a new multimedia program by Alison Mackay, the return of Vesuvius Ensemble, six world premieres by living composers, and Tafelmusik premieres of Lotti's Missa Sapientiae and of Citterio's own orchestral arrangement of Bach's Goldberg Variations. Citterio's debut Tafelmusik recording, Vivaldi con amore, will be released in September 2019, and a live recording of A Handel Celebration takes place at Koerner Hall in May 2020. In November 2019 Tafelmusik returns to Europe for the first time in a decade, with soprano Karina Gauvin, and the critically acclaimed Safe Haven multimedia program will travel across Ontario in 2020.

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) has selected the finalists for the 31st annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers Concert of Arias, to be presented in the Wortham Theater Center on February 1, 2019, at 7 p.m. A limited number of general admission tickets for the performance are available for purchase here. The program will also be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube for all to enjoy, inviting viewers to cast their votes for the Online Viewers' Choice Award.

Folger Consort, the early music ensemble in residence at the Folger Shakespeare Library, performs twelve concerts of A Christmas Messe: A Banquet of Seasonal English Music, Friday, December 14 through Sunday, December 23, 2018 in the Folger's festively decorated Elizabethan theater. Seasonal English favorites will be heard alongside Latin carols from medieval England, choral works by one of England's greatest Renaissance era composers, William Byrd, and traditional carols such as "The Boar's Head" and others.
