Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater have announced jazz programming running March 20 through April 2.

Repeat engagements include David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Eternity Band, Frank Vignola's Guitar Night, Birdland Big Band and Arturo O'Farrill & The Latin Jazz Orchestra.

PYO Music Institute (PYOMI) and its partners will continue recognizing outstanding music teachers through the 10th Annual Ovation Award. This award recognizes inspiration and leadership in music education. For over ten years, hundreds of current and former music students have shown appreciation for their music teachers through Ovation Award submissions. Beginning on March 6, 2023, current and former students of all ages are invited to nominate “the music teacher who changed my life” in a 250-word essay.

Discovered by producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, their lead vocalist and drummer Stokley, became a solo recording artist in 2017.

City Ballet of Boston and BoSoma Dance Company will present 'Side by Side,' an evening of contemporary dance. This double-bill performance offers a wide range of 21st century original and newly re-staged works. The play, which takes place in the legal red light district that existed in New Orleans prior to World War I, follows Creole madam 'Duchess' Kitty Dewitt and the residents of her elite bordello. The Duchess has lofty ambitions for her teenage daughter Lili this Mardi Gras season... but Lili has plans of her own.
