GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, has announced the nominees for the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, including five Broadway shows, Billy Porter, Reneé Rapp, The Color Purple, High School Musical the Musical the Series, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, and more.

& Juliet, Ain't No Mo, Kimberly Akimbo, A Strange Loop, Take Me Out, Better Nate Than Ever, High School Musical: the Musical: the Series, Trevor: the Musical, Reneé Rapp, Dove Cameron, Only Murders in the Building, and more were nominated for GLAAD Media Awards. The first three episodes of season three will premiere on Thursday, August 12 with subsequent episodes launching weekly every Thursday through October 21.

Broadway Palm's production of RING OF FIRE gives audience members the chance to learn about Johnny Cash's life while listening to over 30 of his iconic songs. At the beginning of the show, the entire cast introduces themselves by saying, "I'm Johnny Cash," and from then on they each take turns telling stories of his life, through both song and dialogue.

In 2006, Ring of Fire, conceived by William Meade and created by Richard Maltby, Jr. appeared for the first time on Broadway. Its Broadway run was short-lived, but a revised version of it has found popularity in the theatre world, particularly in an intimate setting where the audience can find themselves swept up in the story told by Cash's music.

The infamous 'Man in Black' certainly has the legions of fans that merit a musical about his life, but you don't have to be a big Johnny Cash fan to love Ring of Fire. The show, onstage now at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre, walks audiences through his life song by song; starting with his childhood in Arkansas all the way through the Grand Ole Opry days and then his struggle with substance abuse.
