'Shakespeare in the Raw' Production of HENRY V Will Be Performed by First Maria Ensemble and Knickerbocker Players in March

From March 15 to 17, First Maria Ensemble and Knickerbocker Players will present a 'Shakespeare in the Raw' production of 'Henry V' at Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater, 10 West 64th Street.
Emit Theatre Presents ISLE FULL OF NOISES, An Interactive TEMPEST

Emit Theatre will present ISLE FULL OF NOISES: An Interactive Tempest, an interactive show for young audiences and families, adapted from Shakespeare's The Tempest and directed by Gianna Cioffi. The show is the first in the Little Lights Series of monthly pop up performances hosted by The Shakespeare Forum. Isle Full of Noises performs Sunday, January 12 at 1pm at El Barrio's Artspace PS109 (215 E. 99th St., off the Q and 6 trains). One year ago the members of the Adirondack Shakespeare Company were scattered in the emergency room at Glens Falls Hospital, at Albany Medical Center, on a remote hillside in North River frantically calling family members and friends of five people who were in a terrible car crash. It was the day the cast was arriving; and instead of having pizza and an introductory Welcome-to-the-Adirondacks meeting, they were reeling with shock and fear, and wondering if everyone was going to be alright.

ADK Shakes will perform Songs of the Iroquois: Turtle Island, Hamlet, and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead for students and for the public from September 27 through October 16. In addition to these performances, the Company is also hosting a conference on Hamlet and Mental Health at Pendragon Theatre in Saranac Lake October 14-16. Additional venues include the Saratoga City Music Hall, Saratoga Arts Center, Tannery Pond Community Center, Charles R. Wood Theater, Seagle Music Colony, and Whallonsburg Grange Hall. Winter may feel like it never really arrived, but Adirondack Shakespeare Company is ready to officially welcome spring in April with productions of Julius Caesar and The Merchant of Venice. For the first time the company is also offering a number of educational performances for local students of last summer's original children's play, Songs of the Iroquois: Turtle Island.
