Singer Christine Lavin is known for bringing the funny, and that's exactly what she's planning to do at Birdland on April 2nd. Lavin, Julie Gold, and their coterie of funny pals are teaming up to present an unforgettable night of musical comedy in their annual April Fool's show.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, will again present a cast of Harvard and Yale grads and current students in The Eighth Annual Harvard-Yale Cantata: The Eras Tour. To celebrate the Eras, we are including writers and performers from the last eight decades. This show is a competition of Harvard alumni vs. Yale alumni, as performers and writers.

As the duo Crowes Pasture, they’ve captured their beautiful vocal blend — woven into delicately textured arrangements featuring his guitar and her clawhammer banjo — on two EPs and three albums, and on Sept. 1, they’ll release their fourth full album, Don’t Blink. They will support the release with a series of late-summer and fall performances.

Singer and Songwriter Robin Batteau brings his unique new project, Banned in Sparta, to the Passim stage on January 29th. Inspired by ancient Greek Lyric Poets like Sappho, Simonides, and Corinna from the 5th and 6th and 7th centuries BCE, Banned in Sparta, combines the incredible songwriting talents of Batteau with the iconic voices from New England's folk scene like Tom Rush, Carolyn Hester, Tom Paxton, Livingston Taylor, Kate Taylor, and Eric Andersen. Batteau elevates the myths and ancient struggles of the Greek tragedies into modern folk classics. Robin's sister Yani, who plays clawhammer style banjo, will open the show and join him onstage for a few songs. Tickets are on sale now at Passim.org. 

Feinstein's at Loews Regency continues its Summer 2012 season with the return of MAC and Bistro award winner Raissa Katona Bennett in a special week-long engagement through August 25.
