KSU Dance Company's SLANG To Feature Contemporary And Classical Works

Kennesaw State University's Dance Company will showcase an evening of contemporary and classical dance, SLANG, on Nov. 15 and 16. The performance will feature four different works, including Onward, an original work from guest choreographer and celebrated dancer, Jimmy Orrante. Orrante's choreographic residency is made possible thanks to the Pomare/Conner Memorial Endowment Fund for Dance.
Mechanics' Hall Names Annie Leahy As Inaugural Executive Director

Mechanics' Hall Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Annie Leahy as the organization's inaugural Executive Director. Leahy will start her post on April 22nd. She joins Mechanics' as the organization begins a process of planning for major building and facility improvements that will allow the Hall to present a wide variety of creative and artistic programs which honor the mission of the MCMA - to inspire and enrich the community by promoting ingenuity, creativity, innovation, and the diffusion of useful knowledge.

The Public Theater recently announced that Louis Cancelmi, last seen as Caliban in the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Tempest, had stepped into the company of Troilus and Cressida as Achilles, replacing David Harbour, who suffered an injury during previews and will be unable to complete the run. The play celebrates its opening tonight, August 9, after a short delay.

The Public Theater announced today that Louis Cancelmi, last seen as Caliban in the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Tempest, has joined the company of TROILUS AND CRESSIDA as Achilles. The Public Theater announced the line-up today for the 2015 FREE Shakespeare in the Park season, continuing a 53-year tradition of free theater in Central Park. Since 1962, over five million people have enjoyed more than 150 free productions of Shakespeare and other classical works and musicals at the Delacorte Theater. Conceived by founder Joe Papp as a way to make great theater accessible to all, The Public's free Shakespeare in the Park continues to be the bedrock of the Company's mission to increase access and engage the community. This summer, free Shakespeare in the Park will feature Shakespeare's late romances with THE TEMPEST (May 27-July 5), directed by Tony Award nominee Michael Greif, and CYMBELINE (July 27-August 23), directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan.
