Nedra McClyde BIO
Nedra McClyde is a talented actress who has made a name for herself on both stage and screen. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and has been performing since childhood.
McClyde's Broadway debut came in 2016 when she appeared in the Tony Award-winning play "The Royale" by Marco Ramirez. The play, which was inspired by the life of boxer Jack Johnson, received critical acclaim for its powerful performances and timely subject matter. McClyde played the role of Nina, the sister of the play's protagonist.
Prior to her Broadway debut, McClyde had already made a name for herself in the theater world. She has appeared in numerous Off-Broadway productions, including "The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World" by Suzan-Lori Parks and "The House That Will Not Stand" by Marcus Gardley. She has also performed regionally at theaters such as the Guthrie Theater and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
In addition to her stage work, McClyde has also made a name for herself on television. She has appeared in several popular shows, including "The Deuce" on HBO and "Jessica Jones" on Netflix. She has also appeared in the films "The Big Sick" and "The Week Of" on Netflix.
McClyde's talent is not limited to acting, however. She is also a skilled musician and singer. She has performed with several bands, including the Brooklyn-based group The Goodnight Darlings.
Most recently, McClyde appeared in the Off-Broadway production of "The House That Will Not Stand" at New York Theatre Workshop. The play, which explores the lives of free women of color in 19th-century New Orleans, received critical acclaim for its powerful performances and timely subject matter.
