BIO



Maia Wilson (born Maia Nkenge Wilson) voiced Bulda in Disney's animated film, Frozen.

Wilson has minor roles in a few well-known Broadway shows, such as The Book of Mormon and Rent. She has also served as understudies.

In 1996, she served as an understudy for Joanne Jerfferson in the musical Rent, and as a replacement for "the woman with bags", Mrs. Jerfferson, and the ensemble. She worked on the musical for twelve years.

In 2005, she played three roles in the musical, The Color Purple: Church Lady/Jarene, Ensemble, and Daisy. She served there for three years, in both the 2008 World Premiere in Los Angeles and on Broadway in 2009.

A year after The Color Purple ended, Wilson was a performer in 9 to 5: The Musical.

Recently, in late 2012, Wilson sang an impromptu version of Once on This Island's "Waiting For Life" at Broadway Sessions.

Broadway Sings for Pride will kickoff NYC Gay Pride 2013 by celebrating with their third annual Gay Pride benefit concert. The special one-night benefit entitled ' Unite' with join forces with American Idol and Billboard recording artistic Kimberley Locke, Broadway powerhouse Eden Espinosa (star of Wicked, Rent, Brooklyn The Musical), American Idol and Rent star Anwar Robinson and over 20 members of the Broadway community. The concert will benefit the Hetrick-Martin Institute and Broadway Sings for Pride. There will also be special speakers including a message of hope from Steven Guy and James Clementi of the Tyler Clementi Foundation. The night will be hosted by award winning host from the hit show 'truTV Presents: the World's Dumbest' Scott Nevins with staging by Rachele Rommes (Minnesota Timberwolves choreographer). A live auction will happen before the show.
